Es el mes de los trofeos en las máximas competiciones europeas de futbol. Es bueno porque vemos un futbol de gran nivel, con jugadores y entrenadores destacados en los últimos meses, que buscarán la victoria que finalmente escriba sus nombres en la historia del futbol del viejo continente. Pero la mala noticia es que va marcando los finales de temporada y tendremos que esperar sus reanudaciones dentro de unos meses. Hoy se cierra al temporada de la UEFA Europa League con el cotejo entre **Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Rangers** . Hablemos de cómo llegan ambos y cuál es su actualidad.

**Eintracht Frankfurt** mostró de lo que era capaz desde el mismo inicio del torneo. Quedando en el Grupo D fue literalmente invencible, ya que pudo cerrar con tres victorias y tres empates. Fue el indiscutible líder de grupo. Tras su trastabillante eliminatoria con el Betis, su empate en casa frente a otro español, el Barcelona, dejó algunas dudas en cuanto a su continuidad. Pero todo quedó claramente despejado ante la victoria que pudieron labrarse en el mismísimo Camp Nou. Parecía que eso era lo que necesitaban para poder ahora sí poder creerse que podrían llegar a la final. Por eso, dieron un golpe de autoridad ante el único equipo inglés que quedaba en competencia, West Ham, ganando los dos partidos de la eliminatoria, permitiendo sólo un gol en contra. 

 **Rangers** sí tuvo que trabajar más su clasificación. En casi todas las etapas parecía que se quedaba, pero no ocurrió así. Emparejados con el Lyon francés, se conformó con el segundo lugar del grupo. Aunque pudo quedar invico ante el Dormund, su primer encuentro contra alemanes ésta temporada, sí sufrió más en las siguientes instancias. Ante el Estrella Roja y el Braga perdió en uno de los partidos, pero pudo pasar a la siguiente etapa gracias a que la victoria que lograba era más abultada que la de su rival, dejando a su favor el marcador global. Y llegó su segundo alemán éste año: el Leipzig. ¿Resultado? Una victoria más abultada que su derrota, así que llegan a la final dejándose golpear por el rival, pero siendo ellos quienes golpearon más fuerte.

**Eintracht Frankfurt** showed what they were capable of right from the start of the tournament. In Group D, they were literally unbeatable, as they were able to close with three wins and three draws. They were the undisputed group leaders. After his stuttering elimination with Betis, his draw at home against another Spaniard, Barcelona, left some doubts as to his continuity. Although they were undefeated against Dormund, their first match against Germans this season, they suffered more in the following stages. They lost to Red Star and Braga in one of the matches, but were able to advance to the next stage thanks to the fact that their victories were bigger than those of their opponents, leaving them with the aggregate score in their favor. And then came their second German this year: Leipzig. The result? A bigger victory than their defeat, so they reached the final being beaten by their opponents, but they were the ones who hit harder.

A pesar de su contundencia en Europa, el **Eintracht** no ha sido tan poderoso en el torneo local. Actualmente ocupa el puesto 11 en la Bundes Liga, muy lejos de los puestos que le volverían a dar la oportunidad de jugar torneos europeos la próxima campaña. Lograr éste boleto ganando la final sería un gran éxito para los teutones. No obstante, para los más supersticiosos, les preocupa enormemente que Attila, el águila que sirve de mascota oficial del club, se le haya negado la entrada a España para poder sobrevolar el engramado antes del encuentro. Pero tranquilo muchachos, que tampoco es que es infalible nuestra amiga emplumada, porque las últimas tres finales que disputaron y donde sí pudo volar el terreno de juego, sólo ganaron una vez, así que...

Mientras tanto, ganar la final para los **Rangers** sería muy especial. Acaban de perder la opción de ganar el torneo local, así ésta copa es más que accesible. Recordemos también que ésta temporada iniciaron con **Steven Gerrard** como entrenador, quien se marchó al Aston Villa, dando paso al legendario **Giovanni Van Bronckhorst** para que ocupara el banquillo, quien se ha encargado de mantener la máquina funcionando y aportando un estilo nerlandés que es indiscutible. Por cierto, son los escoceses quienes tienen más goles anotados en ésta campaña, con 32.

**Oliver Glasner** se ha visto muy contento y optimista en la última aparición frente a la prensa. Confía en que habrá gran audiencia en el estadio y en la transmisión televisiva de éste encuentro. Por supuesto, aprovechó de dar su impresión de su rival, dándole elogios y comentarios positivos, reconociendo que tiene cosas en común con sus anteriores adversarios: Barcelona y West Ham. Sin embargo, aunque los respeta, se mostró confiado en poder imponerse en el marcador. Además, no pudo asegurar la presencia de **Jesper Lindstrom**, y seguirá siendo duda hasta el último momento. Quien no estará definitivamente es el colombiano **Rafael Borré.** 

Por su parte, el nerlandés **Van Bronckhorst** no se guardó nada para su plantilla, de quienes dijo que estaba orgulloso y aunque estar en la final ya es un logro, están decididos a ganar la final, y llevar a sus vitrinas un nuevo trofeo. Se mostró seguro de que contarán con el apoyo de la afición en territorio español. Y como es sabido que quizás algunos sospechen de que pudieran presentarse algunos desordenes, aprovechó de animar a la afición a que disfrutaran del partido y se enfocaran en él. A buen entendedor, pocas palabras. ¿Serán suficientes? También, confirmó que está disponible **Kemar Roofe**, vital para la ofensiva. Y lamentablemente no estará **Alfredo Morelos**, como ya sabemos desde hace días atrás.

Los alemanes se impusieron en ambos partidos, ganando 3-6 en la ida y 6-1 en la vuelta, dejando un abultado marcador final de 12-4. Además, los teutones guardan un historial positivo contra equipos escoceses en general, dejando un historial de cuatro victorias, un empate y una derrota. Sin embargo, no se confían, ya que Rangers ya ha salido victorioso éste año ante dos equipos alemanes más poderosos que el Frankfurt. Pero, a la final, todos éstos factores son meramente historia, y deberán ganar éste duelo en el terreno de juego, donde las estadísticas no tienen todo el peso que tienen en los papeles.
