It is no news that we are in an era when the phone has become a part of our survival. Most times we just can't do without our devices, it’s either we get addicted to it in one way or the other or for one reason. To some their phone is their means of entertainment, some others have it as their workplace, and some take it as their source of information. 

With our phones, we can reach out to any part of the world and even get in touch with people from different parts of the world. So this is more of a reason why an individual requires the need to have a device of their own. 

## Can I survive without my phone?

Recently I have been getting some complaints regarding the fact that I don't pick up my calls. Just this evening one of my bosses called me up to five times but I couldn't pick up. I already left my phone somewhere. 

I am not the phone-addictive type. Just because I work and earn online is one reason why I am on my phone most of the time. No matter how worse it may be, when it's time for me to sleep or get some other important things done without the need of my phone then my phone stays away for that moment. 

My brother makes me laugh most time when I am with him. He uses his phone so much that his phone will remain active even while he's asleep. He holds it in his hand and sleeps off. At times I will have to put it off and then stop whatever he is doing. 

So there are people I know that can’t go a few minutes without their phone. One of my hostel mates while I was in school was a phone addict or I should say movie addict. He is always on his phone watching movies. The only time you will see him around is when his phone is not with him and by then he is sure about having his phone charged somewhere. Once the phone is on he is nowhere around us. 

I don't know how important what I am doing on my phone could be. When it's time for me to sleep or drop it, I don't take the risk of using it at that time.

I see some people walking on the street or on the roadside pressing their phones. I wonder how they get to concentrate on what they’re doing and also not lose sight of where they are going. No matter what, I won't be on my phone when I am on the walkway or by the roadside. 

One thing about me and my phone is that I have it so heavy and important on my mind that when I am not with it I feel like a part of me has gone missing. So I will feel empty without having it on me, so I have to find out and make sure I don't lose it.
