녹색 - The Green

집사람을 기다리는 동안 주택가 주변에 채소밭을 둘러보았다.
크지 않은 빈터에 누군가가 토마토와 고추를 심었다.
아직 다 자라지는 않았지만 색깔이 너무 고와서 올려본다.

무지개 일곱색깔중 한 가운데에 위치한 녹색은 여러가지 의미가 있다.
우선 녹색은 보는사람이 편안함과 안락함을 준다.
일상에 지친 몸과 마음에 새로운 에너지를 줄수 있는 색깔이다.
생명의 색이라고 불리우는 것도 이런 이유가 아닐까 생각해 본다.
전통적으로는 번영과 풍부를 상징하기도 하며, 
이성과 감성의 균형을 유지하는데에도 도움을 준다. 
마음을 차분히 가라 앉히는 효과가 있다고는 하는데 의외로 상업적으로 사용되는 경우도 더러 있다.
스타벅스에 사용되는 녹색도 그러하고
그린소주나 참이슬 술병에 사용되는 녹색도 그러하다.
아마도 편안함, 깨끗함, 자연/건강 지향성 등의 이미지때문이 아닐까 생각해 본다.

While waiting for my wife, I looked around the vegetable garden around the residential area.
Somebody planted tomatoes and peppers on the vacant lot.
It has not grown up yet, but the color is too beautiful.

Green, the middle of the rainbow seven colors, has many meanings.
First, green gives the viewer comfort.
It is a color that can give new energy to body and mind tired from everyday life.
This is the reason why it is called the color of life.
Traditionally, it symbolizes prosperity and abundance.
It also helps maintain balance between reason and emotion.
It is said that it has the effect of quietly calming the mind, 
but there are also some cases where it is surprisingly used commercially.
So is the green used in Starbucks,
So is the green used in Green-Soju and Chamisul-Soju.
Perhaps, it is because of the images of comfort, cleanliness, nature, and health.

Whoever is growing that garden is doing a great job! Those plants look healthy and happy. I like seeing that tall sunflower, too, in the second photo - it has such a fat stalk! That must be good soil. Happy New Year!
