The earnings potential of the Steem blockchain has now converged back towards its pre-HF20 values.

Having said that, our payouts this week are significantly higher than most bidbots listed on [iSteemd](http://isteemd.com/). This again illustrates the advantages of having a *managed* fund compared to using just one algorithm.

The values below that relate to the Steem blockchain are now given as 7-day averages to give a fairer picture of what has happened during the whole week.

Let's lay out the different percentages to make them clearer. These are all calculated in terms of STEEM per SP.

Gross turnover inc. payouts = 0.376% (APR 19.6%) [1]
Gross income ex-payouts = 0.365% (APR 19.0%) [2]

Value of Steemit upvotes = APR 21.7% [3]
Value of Steemit rewards payouts = APR 16.0% [4]

**Distributed MAPR payouts = 0.310% (APR 16.2%)** [5]
Total MAPR payouts = 0.321% (APR 16.7%) [6]

[2] Gross income minus the random free upvotes, SBI shares given to delegators and MAP upvotes.

Notice that our turnover, which includes all incomes and upvotes given out, is almost as high as the blockchain value: [1] is close to [3].

Our MAPR distribution [5] is slightly *higher* than the average blockchain author rewards [4].

Also, the total amount MAPR has given out as distribution, prizes and upvotes, [6] is higher than [4].

Overall, I am please with the results this week. Strangely, this is a near-copy of last week, even though many changes have taken place "under the hood".

## News

I have changed the layout of our numerical data; I hope the different numbers are slightly clearer!

I am in the process of moving the curator-support upvotes to my @rycharde account. This frees up MAPR to concentrate on earnings. It also means I can simplify the table of values as the extra payouts from upvotes will be much smaller. I also wonder whether 6 figures is too many!

Much of what I used to write here in the News section can now be read at the top of the article as addenda to the table.

All our percentages are calculated like-for-like based on STEEM so that these are real returns in STEEM per delegated SP (which is also priced in STEEM).

A reminder that we have two missions: to be profitable to delegators *and* to support our MAP Curator Trail and thereby improve the quality of posts on Steemit. The @accelerator account, ignoring the delegated SP, is growing slowly but steadily and forms the basis of our upvotes to curators who are in the MAP Trail.


## Important News

The blockchain upvote values are now converging towards their pre-HF20 values. The bidbot market appears very patchy nd sluggish; this is reflected in that our MAP Rewarder returns are currently higher than most bidbots. The prices of STEEM and SBD have been stable but pressure appears downwards. The whole crypto market is rather hanging on to the $200bn support, even as stockmarkets see a significant correction. 

As I mentioned last week, the blockchain values for upvotes and rewards seem to over-estimate actual values. I suspect this is due to author-curation-rewards being retunred to the pool; this value is not obviously published anywhere. We shall see how things develop, but it may mean that distributions appear on the lower end of the scale only because the blockchain numbers are inflated by maybe 1%.

I cantinue to seek new sources of income to supplement our current algorithms. As always, the most profitable algos depend on the coin prices so that the only certainty is change.

Having said that, we are in the midst of some changes in our operations. The support to curators has been moved back to my @rycharde account so that different classes of upvotes do not interfere with each other. This will off-set the slight drop due to HF20. We are also implementing an updated voting strategy; this is based on running some statistics over the past 10 months of data and the realisation that changing the voting balance may be more profitable. I also calculated that to continue the current strategy to its full potential requires something around 500k-800k SP! One difficulty has been trying to morph one strategy into another without having one poor week - this can happen as curation rewards take 7 days to pay out. I hope I have managed this wisely.
