 It's been well over a week since WLEO 2.0 has been launched, proving once again that the leo team is alive and well and it's doing a great job managing this project. Thumbs up for that. WLEO 2.0 was launched after a hack that forced the WLEO pool to be *closed for maintenance* and now it's back in the game. Many were anticipating that this catalyst(WLEO 2.0) will boost the price of LEO quite a lot and some of us were already seeing LEO at nearly 50 cents quite soon after the launch. It has appreciated a bit after consolidating at around $0.14 and a 1.2 HIVE per LEO ratio. Now it's valued at around 20-22 cents and the HIVE/LEO pair bids are ranging from 1.72 to 1.74 HIVE per LEO. Nice... The 24h Volume though is of 42886.61190730 HIVE on leodex, valued at $5118.217. LEO however hasn't appreciated dollar wise in an aggressive manner yet. It's nothing spectacular to be seen on its chart, and in our wallets, and who knows when we'll see that $1 LEO that we've been anticipating. I have strong conviction that we will see it, but my question is: what(catalyst) do you think will take it to that $1 mark after all? A CEX listing will definitely boost the price, that is for sure. I think LEO has a fine nice natural growth till now, outperforming Hive for example. This is a very rare case in the crpyto world, where a token on a chain is outperforming the native currency of the chain. With the lockdowns, people will be more present. Maybe a reddit thread will bring more users, next to twitter or a facebook page/group to raise awareness. I think pumping the price to 1 dollar is pretty manageable if you look at what 1 exposure to ETH pair did, imagine LEO BTC, or LEO USDT that allows even more liquidity to flow in. - LEO/EOS on EOS dex - LEO/TRON on TRON Dex and this is without even touching centralised exchanges yet. Dollar parity also comes with its own set of psychological implications lets say you earned on this post 40 LEO now that its 40 dollars and people see that they like wow as they equate $40 to what they can buy and when that clicks you see them running. It's hard to say when but if Bitcoin maintains this pace, it probably wouldn't take long. At some point, those who bought Bitcoin will start investing some of the capital to increase profits and here will be the high season for altcoins. IMO, it all comes down to the advertising revenue buying up and burning leo from the market. It just has to be enough where it can nudge LEO token demand over available supply on a regular basis. Obviously more users would help both sides of the equation. More users means higher ad revenue and more demand. I don't think we're close to that point yet... *for now*. This is akin to the inflation argument that seems so common in the cryptocurrency world. Everyone focuses upon inflation and trying to manipulate things to push token prices up. I’m curious to hear other responses. In my opinion - a CEX listing is virtually guaranteed to boost the price beyond $1. LEO has a very tiny float of liquid (unstaked and upooled) coins. So a listing could see us rise to $1 and easily beyond that to a more ridiculous level. Outside of that, the main focus (for me at least) is to get more users onto the platform. This means more content creators, readers and token stakeholders. You've got a great business and developing model and new features are proof for my words. I consider as well that a CEX listing will affect the price a lot and that's why I have mentioned it also. My bet would be on Binance, probit and ionomy for the first to list it. @khaleelkazi I agree. We need to build a bigger base of users. In particular, content creators. We need content that will keep users engaged on a sustained basis. Not just for a day or week. I believe 6-12 months of hard work is needed on the content front and on building a big reader base. On that, it's important that new articles are shared on social media and other places. Exchanges are important, if binance can list us it would be great. Shouldn’t be as hard since we have a direct relationship with Hive, which they are very familiar now especially after the steem debacle. Price goes up when people buy and don’t sell. If people are planning to label their curation/author rewards as “income” then we will need some significant, consistent buying pressure to negate and overpower that constant selling pressure which was and is still present on steem and hive. This is not “concern trolling” its a mathematical concern that has over 4 year history showing us that selling outpaced demand. EXCEPT for the period where voting bots were a thing. That sparked insane demand for steem and sbd but once that stopped the demand for steem and sbd stopped as well. LEO needs pumpamentals. Buying and locking is a great start. Ad revenue being used to market buy LEO is a GREAT start. We need more of that, get that ad revenue into a “pumping” machine. Get more users, create more reasons to buy and not sell LEO, more incentives, more things that require LEO. We need to do it all. I agree 100% that exchanges are the main trigger to get Leo up in value. Twitter is a smart place to focus on as it is becoming the place for cryptocurrency users. I think we should run meme contests for each coin, like one for ripple and one for link, where the best meme for that coin gets Leo. I will like to see the AD revenue report for Leo this month, even though its been on a steady growth in the past, it has accomplished that without the Ad revenue from the Hive stats platform which usually contributes a lot to the total Ad revenue from all the leo services combined, the platform only started working back recently and I'm sure Hive users have began using to track their stats again like I have, I check through it several times a day. If it will contribute more to the Ad revenue I wonder how it will look on the token when it is bought back from the market and burnt. Actually, many factors would contribute to that growth. In my opinion, they are: - CEX listing. I can remember how listing HIVE on Huobi pomped the price from $0.18 to $0.97 in just one week. We can have similar price action with WLEO which has much more advantage than HIVE in terms of supply. - Onboarfing. Assuming we had 1k new users in the LeoFinance community and each of them desired to hold at least 1k LEO. That would place a demand for 1 million tokens and we don't have that much in liquid supply.
