Word on the streets is that the SEC is on the hunt for the CEO of Bitcoin, ready to drag him to court. And why, you may ask? Well, that motherfucker is being accused of committing the heinous crime of educating people about decentralized money, which happens to be the "super sound traditional financial system's" kryptonite.

But let's put the jokes aside for a moment. Satoshi Nakamoto has undeniably played a significant role in shaping humanity. While Bitcoin hasn't yet established itself as a widely accepted medium of exchange, it has undoubtedly paved the way for a new and more liberated economy.

In this regard, we must tip our hats to El Salvador, the only country in the world to officially embrace Bitcoin as legal tender. Other nations have made announcements on the matter, but El Salvador is the only one that has taken the leap. Kudos to Nayib and his advisors for their bold move.

Interestingly enough, El Salvador seems to be on its way to becoming the Bitcoin hub that America could have been. However, America has taken a detour and recently adopted a stance similar to that of China when it comes to crypto. I may be exaggerating a tad, but I trust you grasp the essence of it.

Lately, a Twitter account caught my attention—MOTIV Perú—which appears to be a "Bitcoin organization" dedicated to assisting the less fortunate with their finances while providing them with financial education, specifically related to Bitcoin.

They feature heart-wrenching photos on their Twitter account, depicting individuals in dire poverty, including children, receiving gifts from Bitcoin enthusiasts as they learn about the cryptocurrency. It truly saddens me whenever I see people living in extreme poverty. I despise poverty so much that I would do anything to eradicate it completely.

While I appreciate the efforts of Bitcoin enthusiasts in Peru to help those in need, I cannot ignore the fact that this kind of support may not be sustainable in the long run. Providing for the poor in the short term is one thing, but teaching them how to become self-sufficient would be far more impactful. Unfortunately, Bitcoin itself cannot accomplish this feat. While Bitcoin's value may appreciate over time, it does not create a growing economy.

For the average Joe, Bitcoin offers limited utility. Unless you have access to a massive mining pool, you can't earn or generate anything with Bitcoin. HODLing is essentially the primary use case for most Bitcoin owners.

Bitcoin operates as a blockchain for preserving wealth, not for generating it. On the other hand, Hive serves as the fishing rod that the people in Peru desperately need. Hive rewards individuals who put in the effort, time, energy, and dedication, allowing them to live without the constraints of a 9-5 job. Personally, Hive has given me hope for achieving financial freedom, and it has even provided access to fresh water for people in Ghana.

You see, Hive doesn't encourage passivity. It's impossible to earn anything on Hive without an initial investment of effort. Hive rewards active engagement over the years, setting it apart from Bitcoin. Just like in Peru, there are impoverished individuals benefiting from the wonders of blockchain technology here on Hive as well.

However, those on Hive have access to sustainable growth and development, while the poor in Peru will be left in poverty once the Bitcoin donations cease. They lack the fishing rods and skills to provide for themselves, and that's where the Bitcoin maximalists miss the mark.

Bitcoin may have shown us the way, but it is not the ultimate solution. An important question that may arise concerning Hive is: "What if everyone jumps on board? Wouldn't that crash the price of Hive and ruin the social network?" The answer is no. We are not all the same; we come from diverse backgrounds and have different goals.

As I've mentioned multiple times on my blog, I perceive Hive more as a society than just an economy, and in my opinion, it is a highly sustainable one.
