Free Aoption Push for Leothreads: Elon Musk Proves To Be Full of Shit Again

Chances are that you have already read the announcement from Elon Musk regarding the new "reading limits" for Twitter users. It appears that, according to new laws and legislation, Twitter users are now restricted to a certain number of tweet reads per day.

Verified users are allowed to read 10,000 tweets (previously announced as 8,000, but updated recently), non-verified old users will have access to 1,000 tweets a day, and new accounts can only read 500 tweets a day. As a Twitter user since 2016, I will probably be allowed to read 1,000 tweets a day.

Even if my limit were set to 500, I wouldn't have a problem with that. I'm not such an avid Twitter consumer. However, the issue lies in Elon Musk once again proving to be full of shit and an attention vampire.

As you can see from [Elon's tweets](https://twitter.com/home), he encourages people to spend more time outdoors and engage in real life instead of wasting hours on social media, trying to portray himself as "the father of humanity." In reality, he is far from being so well-oriented. The man is simply after power and money, just like everyone else in the world, and he doesn't care about your mental health or anything else.

The real reason why he is limiting access for all Twitter users is that [Twitter's contract with Google Cloud has expired](https://www.google.com/search?q=when+does+the+google+cloud+contract+for+twitter+expire%3F&oq=when+does+the+google+cloud+contract+for+twitter+expire%3F&aqs=chrome..69i57.14307j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8), and he is unwilling to renew it. This is why a usage limit was implemented. The app continued to crash yesterday, and the IT guys probably advised him to make this move, but he had to wrap it up as if it were for your own benefit. Don't fool yourself; he didn't buy Twitter for the reasons he claims.

Twitter is a business, and he wants to turn it into the all-in-one app. He aims to make it "the social media app," a money transfer service, a heaven for paid content creators, and more. I won't overlook his attempts to make Twitter the free-for-all app, as he has reinstated the accounts of some of those who were banned a couple of years ago, such as Donald Trump.

But don't fall for his fallacies. He is not such a well-intentioned person. He's not the devil himself either, even though he's sporting "the devil's suit" in his Twitter profile picture.

Hopefully, after Twitter's recent measure of limiting user usage, at least those interested in crypto will start searching for truly decentralized alternatives and join #leothreads of @leofinance, built on a truly decentralized blockchain called Hive.

Leothreads still needs some polishing, especially for mobile users, but even if it's not perfect, it is still a reliable alternative to Twitter. I primarily use Twitter for crypto-related content, both news and opinions, but lately, I've noticed that leothreads is doing a good job in that regard as well.

I haven't spent much time on leothreads this weekend as I've been out for most of the day, but I will catch up starting Monday. In conclusion, I don't believe Elon's narrative regarding the usage limits on the app right now, and I somehow welcome these changes with open arms because I believe it will push for greater adoption of Leofinance.

Musk is giving his best to prove "freedom of speech" on web 2.0 comes at a cost or sacrifice.. that rate limit is absolutely absurd.

Oh, Now he has updated the “Rate limits”? That some good news for twitter users then. Yes, people needs to use thread more (even though like you said the mobile aspect needs some work to be done on) but yeah it’s a great place to be.
