I heard about Universal Basic Income a few years ago, and at first glance it seemed exactly what I wanted from life. To do what I like wherever on earth, receive money without working, and to channel my energy towards activities that really make me happy and stress-free. Unfortunately, UBI never got to my bank account and probably never will.

But UBI, if we can call it Universal Basic Income because it is currently limited to certain geographical areas of the world, reaches the accounts of some people starting this month, in the form of $ 1,200 airdropped from the financial skies by the US Government, clearly proving once again, for those who want to see this, that the current financial system is a fraud. From what I read recently, there are already discussions in the US about extending this airdrop up to a year after the current financial crisis ends, and the amount seems to be increased to $ 2,000 per month for absolutely any American citizen.

Why is the American government doing this? To save a few million Americans from starvation and to accustom others, such as truck drivers, to this kind of government-guaranteed monthly income without having to work, probably... There are currently nearly 4 million truck drivers in America, and autonomous trucks are just around the corner ready to take their jobs, so there's gonna be more unemployment in the future than we might imagine, considering that not only truck drivers will be replaced by robots. Hence there is an absolutely utter need for such an UBI.

This pandemic, in my opinion, is a test for humanity from many points of view, and the way we will get out of it will show the future we are heading towards. OK, I mentioned the USA and I mentioned a stimulus paycheck that can be similar to UBI, but what about the other countries in the world, because Americans are not the only inhabitants of the earth? Well ... in Romania, the country where I live, there is no such thing.

Those who were already employed before the pandemic and could not go to work during the pandemic remained in what is called technical unemployment, receiving 85% of their salary, without having to go to work, and the rest of us... we basically don't exist. But where does this money come from? From the sky, might be the only explanation, at least in the case of America, which has proved that the money for which many of us work eight hours a day, from Monday to Friday, has practically no value and is in reality just paper, or figures on a screen, in the case of those who issue them of course not the hard working man...

Coming back to my country, I fall into the category of those who have not entered technical unemployment, those who have absolutely no income, practically those who do not even exist for this system, and it is my choice to some extent that I have entered this category. In short, I don't receive any money from the government to stay at home, and I haven't been asked by anyone if I can handle it financially during this period... They don't really care about us, like Michael used to say.

And yet I do pretty well, and for that I am grateful to Hive and those who upvote my posts, helping me to earn cryptocurrencies through my blogging activity, almost daily, and in this way I can say that this month I will pay for the necessary expenses and food, from the internet money that I collected last month from my posts. I didn't reach $ 1200, which would mean the actual UBI for an American, but given my frugal lifestyle, the nearly $ 400 I earned this month is enough.

It is true that STEEM also had its role in reaching this amount, and that I had to power down both accounts to reach those$ 400, but during crisis situations crisis solutions are needed. I could have earned even more, if I hadn't set that stupid stop loss that sold me 600 HIVEs for 16 cents, but can't turn back time. At least I learned something from it.

Maybe for many of you Hive is just a simple social network, or the place where no one can censor any post, no matter how controversial it may be, but for me it has become a source of income, which I hope to be with me on the long term, and believe me it is an extraordinarily pleasant one. I tried to compare what I call Hive Universal Income with UBI and maybe I failed, the two concepts being probably totally different, but for those who do not benefit from UBI or another source of income, especially during this crisis, HIVE is the ideal UBI.

It's exactly what I wanted, and it matches perfectly my introductory wish for a UBI. What you need to know is that everything is possible thanks to you, those who support this blog, but also to my lifestyle... call it a minimalist one. Let's not forget though that this hard fork of Steem is still at the beginning of the road, that the Bitcoin Halving is not yet priced in, and the following bull market might start months after it, hence the revenues from this blog could increase drastically over the next months, and hopefully years to come... so there might be a second sun hiding behind the clouds... who knows.
