There's so much going on in the news right now but I'm making another "newbies ABC" type of post... Instead of talking about BTC reaching the colossal price level of $17,000 lately and Coinbase laying off 950 employees, I'm teaching new users on Hive how to connect.

Like I know how to do that :). Well, I know a thing or two about engagement and as confessed in many posts on my blog so far, I learned that the hard way. In my early days on Hive, I was more dedicated to writing my own posts than I was to making new friends and getting to know the community...

So, if you're a new user on Hive reading this shitpost right here, choose wisely ;), or better said get into things that you resonate with. I don't see any meaning in joining Leofinance for example just because it's the coolest and the most popular community on Hive, if you don't like talking crypto, finance, and anything related. 

If photography is your cup of tea then be sure you will find plenty of like-minded individuals to connect with that are into photography too but don't be a fanatic... You can be into both finance and photography, like I've chosen to express myself on the blockchain for a while, and that's good too. The idea is to...

Be genuine. I hate comments coming from people who have not read my posts entirely or that are just there to fill the page. If you don't agree with something some dude said, tell him... Share your story/view and don't be an asslicker, these don't have a long life on Hive usually. Trust me, in my almost five years of blockchain I've seen tons of them coming and going. 

I say... *be sharp with your critique* but don't be rude and an ass. If the author of a publication you're commenting on is like a wall hard to penetrate or if he's letting you know that you're annoying you'd better move on and engage with others. I have recently encountered such a commenter and he's really annoying. Like ass kicking annoying...

You have to be persistent, though. Knowing how to connect will boost your engagement on the platform and being the person that engages with authors, curators, and all sorts of categories of hivers will grant you exposure to the platform. Hence, if there's one *big boy* you want to catch the attention of, be there every time he's there. Don't waste your time on courtesy commenting on stuff you don't really care about.

Leothreads of @leofinance is a great place to start connecting because the content over there is of the short form, extremely diversified and it's easy to digest and interact with. Hence you will be able to make yourself a bunch of friends in quick time and get educated on the blockchain as well. Can't think of a better way of connecting with people on Hive right now than #threads of @leofinance.

But...

You can also write posts as responses to what X(supposedly one of your favorite Hive content creators) talked about recently. I have done that quite often over the years. Not only that you get "cheap inspiration" to write by doing so, but you'll captivate the attention of that user as well. Tag as many people as you can in your posts, but don't be annoying. One can tell when he/she is annoyingly and excessively tagged. 

Last but not least, enjoy what you do. Don't force yourself to Hive cuz it will be a short-lived experience. I've seen quite a few such cases... Anyway, I hope this will be useful in any way to whoever gets to read it, and *I promise you we'll get in touch soon* ;).
