AsktheHive: You get teleported to the year you were born and are an infant again but retain all memories, what do you do this time around?
Saw this question on Reddit a few days ago and figured it'd be fun to ask it on Hive as well, although I'm kind of expecting most of the answers to be something like "buy bitcoin, fork steem earlier to get rid of ned before dan leaves, etc", but maybe some of you won't just turn this into a crypto thing and have some other things in your life you'd do different.

A big thing that comes to my mind would be not caring as much as I did, although it wasn't _that_ much (I know many others who cared a lot more) about what people thought and talked about things you'd do. I.e. small town, people liked to talk which often lead to a pretty boring life as most people didn't dare doing anything either controversial or drastic that affected either your or others social life. 

In the end none of that mattered and I keep wondering what scenarios and happenings I missed out on by being too careful and backing out on a lot of things I did want to do/say at the time.

Tell my parents to save some money and buy real estate - take multiple mortgages if possible. 
Then sell half of the real estate in 2008 and buy bitcoin in 2009 with the sales proceeds.

Interesting question... and I think my answer is similar to yours but with a twist. 

For me, there have been many times when I've shared my (life) plans with others, only to have them steer me away from my path. So if I was to find myself in this situation, I think I would be more confident to act on my own intuition rather than placing so much importance on the advice of others. 

For example, I'm thinking about enrolling in a course next year, one that I wanted to do in my 20's but at the time, a friend 'advised' me that I'd probably hate it and silly me, believed them..!

I really do not think I would do anything differently. I am pretty happy with where I am at in life right now, do overs do not always lead to better, I see do overs mostly leading to bitter, not better. Even if it was a small change you took a left turn instead of a right turn met a beautiful vibrant red head that accepted your advances, you get married, three years later your divorced, she was fooling around with your best friend behind your back, when you caught them they just laughed in your face. It crushed you, you became an alcoholic drug user and never met the real woman of your life that you would have met had you turned left.

Lets say you bought a ton of Apple or Microsoft stock when it was first issued, you knew it was going to go up, but you altered the path of its ascent, someone else that used the returns from those two stocks to attend collage and university never was able to, bit coin never got going.

The future may never be very clear, but the past is a slippery slope to travel back from.

I’d set off trying to experience new things and I have no idea what they would be for the most part. 

### I’d save quite some on time on:
Skipping a few grades in school. 
Not making some friends that where not worth it in the end. 



### What I would do: 
Learn a bunch of new things. I have so many interests in life just not enough time to get around to them all in the depth I want. I’m sure I would find many more. 

Make a little money with my former knowledge but not enough that makes daily life boring. The world has enough bored rich people I’m not interested in joining their cult. Just want some seed money to start my own ventures. 

Treat myself and my health a bit better. There are some things I would not look forward to dealing with again that there is no escaping from having to go though. Then there are things that I could avoid being an issue in the first place. This would make life more enjoyable.

As i know what's about to happen in the world i try to keep as silent as possible and make some clever investments or win sure bets. Then i can literally do whatever i want. There is the saying though that a single action can change the course of the world so i wouldn't have any idea as of what i should in case i would face a different kind of world.

The certain thing would be that me and my family would have a better life!

Hmmm... that would mean that the next “big thing” in my life is going in coma, being administered the final rites, and survive after a doctor sticks a needle near my spine causing me great pain and fear of needles for years to come.

Actually the only thing I regret is that I didn't buy or mine Bitcoin during its early days. *(sorry for this answer)* Also, I regret not selling Steem & Hive when the prices are high then buy back during this recent price drop ;)

Having the exact memories of my life lived this far and starting over would actually be a pretty horrific thing. I'd have a memory of my daughter, a very real person to me, but she would not exist in the universe in which I lived. There would be not be the tiniest trace of her in the universe I would be born into again. I would know where to look for my wife-to-be but our daughter in this universe would not exist for her, either. Her ever having a chance of being born into that universe would be practically non-existent. 

If I ever talked to anybody about an alternative universe I had retained memories of, I'd be considered mentally ill.

But if I had some sort of an abstract and vague blueprint of my life so far accessible to me at crucial points to inform me of a once chosen path, it would make quite a bit of smaller and large changes. Perhaps the main benefit from the knowledge would be a greater sense of urgency and an appreciation for opportunities.

I was crazy bored until they invented the internet again; then I spent the late 90's and early/mid naughties learning about cryptography, practicing writing code and hanging out in the cypherpunk chat rooms waiting for Satoshi to introduce himself and release the white paper so I could get involved. First of all, I wouldn't quit Latin language class in school. I would have stuck with it, instead of choose the easy way out. (one of the things in life I've always regretted). I would probably have skipped a few more classes in college, because they were absolutely useless. And maybe added a few others instead. I DEFINTITELY would have learned more about the IT world, not just the minor things I know now.

Then, unfortunately, I would have still ended up with the same idiots in my life because if I didn't, I wouldn't have my beautiful children now. However, I'd probably put down some different 'ground rules' and started to end things with them way sooner and differently (yes, I know, there is a ***them***, I'm stupid haha). Then I obviously would have bought a shit ton of BTC in the early days (or even just 100 dollars worth, which is a shit ton now). And last but not least: I would have left Ireland long before 2020 came around, to a place where all this crap is not as bad as it is in Europe. Actually, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be here at all shortly after my son's birth... That's it. Not too many changes, right?  😃

If every event was to repeat itself, that means no matter what I do in life, by the time I get to the day of teleportation, regardless of all the changes I made, I'd still be sent back to my birth to begin the cycle all over again.  I'd be fully aware of this teleportation event.  By the third or fourth cycle I'd be so bored of watching the same damn show over and over, I'd probably become quite self destructive, knowing full well no matter how perfect I make life, I never get to live past the day of teleportation, so therefore there's no chance of ever actually being able to enjoy the results.  It would be torture knowing nothing I do matters in the end.

I was afraid of a lot of things back then. Mostly social situations. I was more anti social back then so I guess I would make more friends and avoid the toxic people the second time around. I would also avoid making some of the major mistakes I made in some of the romantic relationships I had (and avoid at least 1 altogether). Seeing as grammar school (known as "elementary school" to the rest of the world) doesn't really matter that much, I wouldn't focus too hard this time or let it stress me out and try to have more fun. I don't know what I'd do about my depression, which is under control now only very recently. I don't know what to attribute that to so I don't know what I would change about that. Maybe the changes I would make would affect that in a positive way too. Who knows...

Oh yikes... Obviously the bitcoin stuff and buying Google stock early. Maybe buying a house earlier... But that's all money related.

Personally... Be less afraid to try stuff alone. I wanted to do a year of high school in the US for the experience, but nobody was able to join me so I decided not to do it. Later on, I told myself I would do those amazing travel destinations when I had a partner to do that with. Years later... I finally got over that and love travelling alone so much that I wish I would have done that earlier.

Careerwise... It's a hard one. On one hand I think I picked a fitting studies eventually (very beta). But doing something creative has always tempted me. I thought I wasn't good enough so I never embraced that. I would have loved to study architecture or something like that.

Oh.... and I would tell my parents not to let me quit my piano lessons.

This is a very interesting question. I might end up doing a ton of things differently especially the kind of things I invest my time into. I might have skipped my pre-u course and maybe even uni and invest in crypto early on.

I would also be less serious when it comes to studies and spend some time playing and being creative as well because I was always a serious kid and too studious to maintain my ranks. I think I can maintain them without sacrificing my play time.

I would also keep low expectations on certain people in my life especially a few closely related people so that I don't end up with disappointments.

I would probably take a different course. I'll follow what I really like. I'll also buy a lot of BTC. Or invest early into the internet.

To play along, I would have taken that offer to experiment with that other couple, started a metal band in highschool, and that is about it.  Maybe buy google stock in the 90s.  Yah, that's it.
