As some of you may know, POSH has been focusing on bridging to doing more things for the Hive ecosystem but at the same time also for its token holders. While I've been trying to keep everything a secret until we can show more and I'll be trying to not say too much in this post, I wanted to get into some workings and connection between POSH and the new project. It may get a bit complicated to follow it along but I'll try to also explain the thought process that went into it.

Twitter blocking POSH from its most used and popular usage sucked, while we're looking into adding other platforms to it, not many make it as easy as Twitter and not many are as used by our Hivers as them. The reddit activity has been quite low for instance even though we're giving out 100 POSH per day to those sharing (~25 hive daily). Devs like @hivetrending have also been working on connecting POSH/Hive with Mastodon and has made some good progress there, but how things will work exactly is yet to be determined. 

While I was trying to figure out other things POSH could do, there was this thing I've always wanted to get started that I never got the chance to and I thought, hey, why not connect it to POSH in some ways. The idea then came from me having spent countless hours on POSH over the years without "paying myself" for the work the way the project would towards for instance devs, maintainers or sharers, what if I did something similar with this other old idea I've had cooking for a while. Another thing was that I'm a big fan of "no-premine" tokens as you can tell by POSH's history and my enthusiasm for tokens like SPK by @threespeak/ @theycallmedan/ @starkerz. This idea is something close to my heart, though, and something I've been fine-tuning and thinking about for many years waiting to eventually give it a go. It was hard to "let go" of it in this way but if not now then I'm not sure when I'll be able to launch it. The decision was made that I'd have POSH and part of its devs help kickstart this idea while looking for other devs, some that aren't on Hive to help finalize all the necessary ingredients to make the idea a reality. While there's still quite some time for it to be a reality, the progress has been quite decent and we're hoping to launch the website, whitepaper and token distribution here soon. For now let me get back into the token distribution and the connection with POSH. 

As some of you know, @poshtoken earns a lot of its Hive through a delegation process, delegators receive POSH in exchange for their delegation, the project earns curation rewards. Another part of it has also been the "gray-area" of post rewards, something I usually would be very against on automated posts, but I'm glad the community has given the project and myself the trust that I wouldn't abuse it but keep using it the way it's been meant to; either buyback tokens to artificially keep value of POSH so sharing remains valuable and something to strive for, or paying for further development and maintenance. We have however taken a different route lately with some of the funding and I hope the community will like what we've done with it, but again, too early to announce anything yet so let's get back to the thinking and justification about it. 

POSH hasn't been buying up as much tokens from the market lately, at the same time there hasn't been as much sell pressure since Twitter earnings went away. Instead we've spent a lot of Hive on this new project and this is how we plan on distributing the tokens of the new project and how we've been trying to balance things out.

When the new project launches, it'll work in a similar way to POSH where people are going to be able to delegate to it and earn some of its token daily. Since POSH helped kickstart and front the funding for its early days, POSH and all its holders will be able to earn part of the new token as well. Let's say as an example (numbers aren't concrete yet), that POSH holders will be able to earn 20% of newly generated tokens of the new project compared to HP delegators directly to the new project. 

Let's assume POSH has spent 10k Hive on this new project, it would now be looking at getting this 10k Hive value back in the new project's token. @poshtoken itself has bought back a lot of its own token over time from POSH earners, currently it holds just shy of half of the POSH supply while the other half is owned by many other users, myself included. By letting POSH holders claim this new token (for a limited time) until POSH gains some of that value it spent back, it gives the token POSH itself and all holders some added value and "utility". It'll work a little bit like dividents and turn POSH into a sort of kickstarter of new projects. The plans have for a while been to turn POSH into its own DAO for small Hive projects, but with the DAO deciders not receiving any pay, there hasn't been much interest other than myself to get involved, maybe that's something that'll change over time.  

Basically POSH will after this be invested in this new project itself, but at the same time its holders can as well. While POSH has some "debt" to Hive, it won't be in a rush to sell all of these tokens cause it's going to be looking for liqudity and maybe a return on its investment. The minimum it would be looking to selling what it invested over time and have some extra tokens for different usecases (The DAO will decide later on). Since part of those rewards came from the post reward pool, it'll look into _burning_ those Hive either to @null or sending them to its sink idea @poshsink, also to be decided. 

One of the strengths of POSH has been its diverse amount of earners and participants, with over 3500 registered accounts and something like 2500 accounts holding more than 0 POSH, it'll give a lot of people a chance to earn this new token by having held it for this long and even after it returned a profit to many. While this new project is going to be somewhat special, we're hoping to re-produce this investment strategy in other future hive project, some that may not even be connected to those involved in POSH directly like myself. While some may think here that this just means sell pressure towards the new token, it also gives the new token some kind of advertisement cause now over 2500 accounts can earn a little bit of it and find out more about this new token and its project. POSH will of course also have a vested interest to see this project succeed, so similarly how it has been doing contests and giveaways of popular Hive games in the past, it might do the same for this one giving it more visibility and traffic. 

Okay, now that I've laid down some of the plans concerning POSH and this new project, I wanted to talk about why I decided to go down this route. 

I want this new project to have a fair launch, this means that not just giving myself x% of the supply but letting me invest into it myself while giving everyone else the same chances. _Put my money where my mouth is_ so to speak, similar to how things went with POSH. Since this new idea is something I've worked quite hard on for many years, it did feel a little difficult to do it this way, especially when you see all other projects outside of this ecosystem giving themselves a ton of allocation, selling out to VC's, angel investors, exchanges, etc. I'm not a fan of that, though, not just cause many of them use that method to scam people by aborting the project after they get the startup money, some more openly and direct than others, but it also takes away from the drive and motivation to see a project succeed. If you've been giving yourself a ton of tokens, regular CEO pay, etc, you don't have too much to lose if the project never takes off, you and your team has already gotten a good return on the time spent on the idea while the rest of holders and investors are the ones that get screwed unless a random bull market takes over and makes anything and everything pump.

But Acid, you'll still get a lot of tokens this way cause you hold POSH. Yes, while this is true, I've been selling quite a bit of POSH lately because I didn't want to make it seem like this is something I've been planning all along. I.e. that Twitter would do what it did with their API changes and that I'll revert POSH into investing in other projects this way so I could get a big share by holding majority of POSH (which I don't any longer). 

The thought has crossed my mind that maybe I just shouldn't share any new tokens with POSH at all and instead just "pay back" what it spent on kickstarting the project, but I don't wanna throw POSH under the bus more than what Twitter already did and if it wasn't for POSH's funding I don't know if I would've had the guts to invest my own money in this token which then instead would have meant I wouldn't have gone forward with this "fair launch". Hard to know what would have happened but I believe it won't hurt the new project's token too much or that people will say "ugh it's not fairly launched" just because a DAO (POSH) and 2500 holders of it got to claim some tokens for a while for free. Compared to what else exists out there I'd say this is still going to be rather fair, while some projects on Hive like SPK or Ragnarok airdropped based on Hive holders, this will quite simply air/claimdrop based on POSH holders but only partially and only for a limited time. 

Endgame, similar to POSH, is of course adoption of Hive. As someone holding Hive that's my main aim with this new project as it always was with POSH as well. If my idea helps get us new users and more traction towards our blockchain, I'm happy with it, but of course, if people like the project itself it would be even more amazing if it takes off and becomes something big.

Anyway, this is getting a bit too long without me ever telling what the new project actually is, so here's a quick rundown on POSH's plans: 

Fund new project (ongoing)
Earn tokens back from new project
Eventually, sell some of those tokens (get the funding back)
Burn some of the Hive cause of post reward funding
Continue to evolve proof of sharing while partially becoming a kickstarter DAO that invests in tokens/projects it believes will help Hive as a whole. 
Share those investments with POSH holders sort of like dividends

Lastly, I do want to thank everyone for their trust, I know worse people could've easily abused this trust and just looked out to enrich themselves by upvoting automated posts, etc, but I hope to make up for it eventually by having built and continue to build things here that help the ecosystem as a whole and hopefully this also proves that you don't really need that much funding to get things going on Hive and turn them into something big. 

As for the new project, it will naturally use all funding it receives through HP delegations/other means to support itself, meaning: pay for devs, pay for maintenance, pay for scaling, evolution and many, many more plans while keeping everything as transparent as possible. 

I hope to be able to announce the beginning of this new project soon and that everyone is as excited as I am about it. I think it's something Hivers will really like and I've spent and will be spending most of my time on making it as good as I can imagine.
