My mother's garden [ENG-SPA]

I am not an expert in plants, but I know that they are sentient beings, they breathe and are vital for life on earth, remember that we depend on them to convert CO₂ into oxygen through photosynthesis, I have read and heard a thousand times how plants should not only be watered and fertilized with good soil, it is important to talk to them, converse with them, tell them that we want to see them beautiful, maybe ask them the reason for their stagnation or why they are drying out, in short let them know that we care about them and that their presence makes our lives happy.

No soy una experta en plantas, pero sé que son seres sintientes respiran y son vitales para la vida en la tierra, recordemos que dependemos de ellas para convertir el CO₂ en oxígeno por medio de la fotosíntesis, he leído y escuchado mil veces de como a las plantas no solo se les debe regar y abonar con buena tierra, es importante hablarles, conversar con ellas, decirles que deseamos verlas bellas, tal vez preguntarles la razón de su estancamiento o por qué se están secando, en fin hacerles saber que nos importan y que su presencia nos alegra la vida.

In previous posts I have mentioned to you that my mother passed away 7 days ago, this has brought many consequences and it is something I am still assimilating, I go around the house a lot, sometimes for no apparent reason and it is part of that adaptation I have.

 

My mother was a great lover of plants, she would fight with the neighbors if she considered that they were hurting them or if they cut any that she had planted, she had plants in the window of her room, in the gardens and in a special area, that my grandmother decided to call the enchanted garden, because my mother could spend hours there happily.

En publicaciones anteriores les he mencionado que mi madre falleció hace 7 días, esto ha traído muchas consecuencias y es algo que todavía estoy asimilando, doy muchas vueltas por la casa, a veces sin motivo aparente y forma parte de esa adaptación que tengo.

 

Mi madre era una gran amante de las plantas, pelaba con los vecinos si consideraba que les estaban haciendo daño o si le cortaban alguna que ella hubiera sembrado, tenía plantas en la ventana de su habitación, en los jardines y en una zona especial, que mi abuela decidió llamar el jardín encantado, ya que mi madre podía pasar horas allí feliz.

Now, among the things that I have tried to put in order are her plants, because I will not be able to take care of all of them as she did, but I have been very moved to see how the plants have felt her absence, I went down to water them with the purpose of not letting them die and I saw some of them very dull, I attributed it to the fact that they had days without the vital liquid, I watered them that night, but the idea remained in my mind, so I went down the next day at different times of the day to see what I observed.

Ahora bien, entre las cosas que he tratado de poner en orden se encuentran sus plantas, pues yo no podre encargarme de todas como ella lo hacía, pero me ha conmovido en gran manera ver como las plantas han sentido, ya su ausencia baje a regarlas con el propósito de no dejarlas morir y vi algunas de ellas muy apagadas se lo atribuí a que tenían días sin el vital líquido, las regué esa noche, pero la idea quedo en mi mente, así que baje al día siguiente a diferentes horas del día a ver que observaba.

To my surprise most of the plants look sad even when I have watered them, in a few words it is not a matter of lack of water, it is that they feel the absence of my mother who always took care of them with love and in a jealous way.

 

This shows me how the plants have also perceived her absence, I am already planning which ones I will pass on to some masseters taking advantage of the soil she prepared and bring them home with the purpose of preserving them and others my sister will take them to her land.

Para mi sorpresa la plantas en su mayoría lucen tristes aun cuando les he regado, en pocas palabras no es un tema de que les haga falta agua, es que sienten la ausencia de mi madre quien las cuidaba siempre con amor y de manera celosa.

 

Eso me muestra como las plantas también han percibido su ausencia, ya estoy planificando cuáles pasaré a algunos maseteros aprovechando la tierra que ella preparó y subirlos a casa con el propósito de preservarlas y otras se las llevara mi hermana a su terreno.

In one of my studies on "what a plant knows", the lecturer mentioned that plant are very sensitive, that they feel mechanical touch, they see although they can't walk.
This was my first time hearing such. When we went further in the course I understand better what he meant😀.
I love plants and I treat them as if they are human because they also have life in them.
Some people think I'm over reacting but that just how I feel about plants.

Condolences to your family. I know how sad to lost someone in the family.

About her plants, yes it seems that they knew their care taker left them, it seems that they are mourning too but I know with the consistent care you will give to them, they will be alive and blooming soon.
