Surprises, we tend to believe that they are always pleasant and sometimes they are, but sometimes they are not, I have just corroborated this with an experience I had last Saturday, so to illustrate a little my experience with surprise, after meditating a little about how I would approach the subject, I decided to share with you a couple of experiences, one in which the surprise brought me joy and satisfaction and another in which I felt fear.

Now, let's start with the positive, although I believe that we learn something from every experience, even if we cannot perceive it at the time, but everything in life has a purpose, so let me tell you about my first experience with surprise.

About a couple of months ago my husband was about to close a business deal, he was excited because he could solve some pending issues and buy some things to even change jobs, among what he wanted to buy was a new cell phone to his liking, I felt it was fair and necessary because he had been using phones that others left, in fact the one he had at that time was a redmi 7A that I had inherited, but I also wanted a new cell phone, I confess that I am a bit addicted to technology and although my phone was barely 8 months old, I also wanted one and I told my husband in confidence and I think he did not pay attention to what I said, but it was not so.

The surprise came the day I accompanied him to buy his cell phone because instead of one, he bought two of the same, one for each of us, this gave me a lot of emotion and happiness, it made me feel pampered and appreciated and as if this were not enough he bought a simpler one for my dad who had recently been left without a cell phone, at the hands of pickpockets in the subway, who took his equipment from his pocket, so this action corroborated me that he is a generous man and empathizes with the situations of others, so here the surprise inspired in me joy, admiration, happiness, security.

Now, let's go to the not so pleasant, which also happens and many, many times by surprise, when we do not expect it, this happened last Saturday, although it was not in my plans I was forced to leave because I had to go to change some headphones that I had bought and had a background sound a little strange, and I was asked to go on Saturday to change the headphones, but the place was somewhat remote, until then everything seemed to go very well, I lay down for a while to rest and get up to clean taking advantage of the water that was coming, But suddenly I began to feel shivering, at first I thought it was due to the fan, but then I realized that it was not that, I was facing the typical shivering that is present before a fever, I got a little scared, because nowadays, what one usually thinks before any symptom is that you have contracted COVID-19, but to complete the picture I began to feel a severe headache and a few minutes later a strong desire to vomit.

That was where the worst came for me, because I usually decompensate a lot when I vomit and I was alone at home, my mother was out and my husband and son were doing preventive maintenance on my husband's motorcycle and although I informed them that I felt terrible, they did not touch their phones for a while, because they had their hands full of grease, gasoline and all the mechanical stuff.

Because of all of the above, I was alone at home for quite a while and I threw up not how many times, there came a moment when I felt so bad that I thought I was going to faint and seeing that I was alone at home scared me, because if I fainted, no one in my family would notice until they returned home, so having to face this whole scenario, alone, not knowing if my family would arrive at the right time, if I fainted maybe giving me a blow, was something that caused me a terrible fear and crying, so this time, this unexpected illness that still affects me a little, was not a pleasant surprise at all.

Sorpresas, solemos creer que siempre son gratas y a veces lo son, pero en otras ocasiones no, esto ultimo lo acabo de corroborar con una experiencia que viví el sábado pasado, así que para ilustrar un poco mi experiencia con la sorpresa, luego de meditar un poco, acerca de cómo abordaría al tema, decidí compartir con ustedes un par de experiencias, una en la que la sorpresa me trajo alegría y satisfacción y otra en la que sentí miedo.

Ahora bien, comencemos con lo positivo, aunque creo que de toda experiencia se aprende algo, así no lo podamos percibir en ese momento, pero todo en la vida tiene un propósito, así que a narrarles mi primera experiencia con la sorpresa.

Hace aproximadamente un par de meses mi esposo estaba a punto de concretar un negocio, él estaba emocionado pues podría solucionar algunos asuntos pendientes y comprarse algunos cosas para incluso cambiar de empleo, entre lo que anhelaba comprar estaba un celular nuevo a su gusto,  yo sentía que era justo y necesario pues tenia rato usando teléfonos que otros dejaban, de hecho el que tenía en ese momento era un redmi 7A que yo le había heredado, pero yo también quería un celular nuevo, confieso que soy un poco adicta a la tecnología y aunque mi teléfono apenas tenía 8 meses de adquirido, yo también quería uno y se lo dije a mi esposo en confianza y a mi parecer no le prestó atención a lo que le dije, pero no fue así.

La sorpresa vino el día que lo acompañe a comprar su celular pues en lugar de uno, adquirió dos iguales, uno para cada uno, esto me dio mucha emoción y felicidad, me hizo sentir mimada y apreciada y por si esto fuera poco le compro uno un mas sencillo a mi papá que recientemente se había quedado sin celular, a manos de los carteristas del Metro, quienes le sacaron su equipo del bolsillo, así que esta acción me corroboro que es un hombre generoso y que siente empatía con las situaciones de otros, así aquí la sorpresa inspiro en mi alegría, admiración, felicidad, seguridad.

Ahora, pasemos a lo no tan grato, que también ocurre y muchas, muchísimas veces de sorpresa, cuando no lo esperamos, esto sucedió el pasado sábado, aunque no estaba en  mis planes mi vi forzada a salir pues tuve que ir a cambiar unos audífonos que había comprado y tenían un sonido de fondo un poco extraño, y me solicitaron fuera el sábado a cambiar los audífonos, pero el lugar estaba algo retirado, hasta allí todo parecía ir muy bien, me recosté un rato para descansar y levantarme a limpiar aprovechando el agua que estaba llegando, pero repentinamente comencé a sentir escalofrío, al comienzo creí que se debía al ventilador, pero luego me percaté que no era eso, estaba ante el escalofrío típico que hace presencia antes de una fiebre, me asuste un poco, ya que actualmente, lo que uno suele pensar ante cualquier síntoma es que ha contraído COVID-19, pero  para completar el cuadro comencé a sentir un fuerte dolor de cabeza y a los pocos minutos unas fuertes ganas de vomitar.

Allí fue donde vino lo peor para mí, pues yo suelo descompensarme mucho cuando vomito y estaba sola en casa, mi madre había salido y mi esposo e hijo estaban haciendo un mantenimiento preventivo a la moto de mi esposo y aunque les informe de que me sentía terrible, no tocaron sus teléfonos hasta pasado un rato, pues tenían las manos llenas de grasa, gasolina y todo lo propio de la mecánica.

Por todo lo anterior, estuve sola en casa un buen rato y vomite no cuantas veces llego un momento es el que me sentí tan mal que  creí que me desvanecía y ver que estaba sola en casa me dio miedo, pues si me desmayaba, nadie de mi familia se daría cuenta hasta que regresaran a casa, así que tener que afrentar todo este panorama, sola, sin saber si mi familia llegaría en el momento indicado, si me desmayaba tal vez dándome un golpe, fue algo que me causó un terrible miedo y llanto, así que esta vez, esta enfermedad inesperada y que todavía me afecta un poco, fue una sorpresa nada grata.

En resumen, la sorpresa puede hacernos experimentar otros sentimientos y emociones tanto los agradables como los que no deseamos sentir, pero que son parte natural de la vida, así que la sorpresa puede venir, como yo lo percibo acompañada de otras emociones y sentimientos dependiendo del contexto, ahora me despido, no sin antes invitarlos a compartir conmigo sus impresiones y vivencias en torno a la sorpresa un abrazo para todos.
