We were happy, it was a new year and it was promising, we had finally managed to buy that house we had dreamed of, after packing everything we would take to our new home we were very tired and to talk a little and take vigor for the day we would have my husband and I decided to have our last cup of coffee in what had been our home for a long time.


It took a while for the moving company to arrive, but they finally showed up and loaded the furniture, appliances and boxes with the smaller things like ornaments, clothes, pictures and smaller, more fragile things. As the truck drove ahead to our new home, I stayed behind handing the keys to their new owners and we said goodbye to those who had been our neighbors and friends for years.

Arriving at my new home I found it a little strange that the moving truck was not already there, but within 15 minutes they arrived, as I am usually a good hostess on my way to my new home, I stopped by an appliance store and bought a beautiful new coffee maker and my favorite coffee to make coffee for me and have an attention with the guys from the company that would bring the stuff down from the truck, it is true that it is their job, but I was taught to be attentive and coffee is always nice for everyone.


While I opened the door and prepared the coffee, they opened the truck and began to unload the boxes, I served them coffee and they enjoyed its rich flavor, the guys were happy, they had already been working for hours and they needed something to encourage them to continue and for that there is nothing like coffee, suddenly I noticed that the boxes had different handwriting than mine.

After noticing that the handwriting on the boxes was not mine, I opened one to check and indeed inside there were things that were not ours, among them a beautiful colorful china, some coffee cups of the finest porcelain, the dishes of a baby, a Moka coffee maker immediately I left the house hoping that it was just a box and I looked at the truck and to my surprise the furniture that were there were not mine, I was shocked and immediately asked the movers to stop unloading, they checked the papers of the guide and indeed the address was mine, I was in shock and began to stress, because my question was where did my furniture and boxes end up?

After the discovery the phone calls began, I called my husband who was finishing some paperwork for the new house, to inform him what was happening and logically to the moving company, because they guaranteed seriousness and efficiency in their service, in turn the guys from the company also made a phone call to investigate, I was upset and a little upset, the face of the guys from the moving truck was a poem after the call that the truck driver made, they looked embarrassed and not knowing what to do and I noticed that they were talking among themselves as if they were hiding something.

In order to organize ideas, calm down and face the situation I prepared more coffee, I took a cup and again shared coffee with the movers, at the beginning they did not want to receive the coffee, but after insisting they received the coffee and after drinking it one of the guys broke the silence and said: "Mrs. Cristina, I have some coffee:

-Mrs. Cristina, I have to tell you the truth, the problem was that the truck in which your things were coming was damaged on the road and your things were moved to another truck, but when we were in this process we coincided with other companions who got off to help us in the process, but the drivers without realizing changed trucks and here has arrived the moving of another family and your things are in that other house.

I took a deep breath, but I was grateful for the young man's sincerity and at least I knew what had happened, after about 20 minutes the company's administration called my cell phone to tell me what I already knew, but before such a disaster I was already on my way with the movers to that house to return what was not mine and get my things back.

But as in life nothing is fortuitous, thanks to this incident, I met my partner Claudia, while we laughed after what happened, she invited me a cup of coffee, we talked, we saw that we had things in common, we exchanged numbers and so we have given shape to our venture, a beautiful gourmet coffee shop where we sell excellent pastries and the most delicious coffee.
