A beautiful beginning of the week I guess and we are all doing fine. Welcome back and today marks the beginning of week 167. This is an episode of it's kind. To be frank, the topics that is given each week has a way of teaching me something for each week. For some of the topics that I ma not familiar with I have to go on research and some I ask one or two persons questions to help me pull through. And at the end of every week in #hive learners community, I must learn a new thing that will help my life. To that I say a big kudos to the community moderators because they have a way of educating us through each topic.

Well, this week we have an amazing topic again and when I looked at it I laughed because currently this is the exact thing that I am struggling with at the moment in my family with my last born. 

We all know that this is the age or smartphone and our children are gradually getting addicted to it even when they are supposed to read their books, the end up picking up their phone. The truth remains that all children are not the same. Some children get matured in time while some of them take a little time to get matured. Even in psychology when I was still in school we were taught that children are not the same. I have twins in my family and the two of them don't act the same. One started behaving naturel right from when they were still kids, while the second child kept acting too childish until he crossed the teen age. The gap between them was so obvious that everyone that lives around us knows that one among the twins is more matured than the other one. 

The reason why I gave that example is so that we know that it is not every child that can survive the hurt in social media today. Some of them need to grow up very well or to a matured state before handling a phone. We can not say because child A is having a phone, then child B or C should also have a phone. Child A may survive the hurt and not follow the evil trending online while child B or C may not survive it. 

My first child never had any good phone until she gained admission into the university before we bought a phone for her. We did that first because there was no money, and another reason was that she is the type that can easily follow what she see others doing online wether it is good or not. But her younger brother had a phone four years before he gained admission into the university because he was not the kind of person that pear influence will affect negatively. All the he was doing with his phone was to make legit money. I introduced him to hive Blockchain and since then he has been doing well. 

Presently the little one left with me at home can not handle phone yet not because he can't operate it, but because he can easily join bad friends online and he will be lured into doing something very bad tomorrow. In fact he can operate the phone more than everyone in my house presently. If I encountered any problem while doing something online and I can him he will just fix it for me or better still tell me what to do or how to fix it. I don't even know how he learnt all of that, but he is still vulnerable when given a phone for a whole day. Before you know what is happening he has already entered somewhere and click on what he should not click. One thing about him is that he loves exploring new things. So when he don't understand how something works he can dismantle your phone in the name of checking how it works. And that is the reason why he easily spoil things. He is sixteen but I can't boldly give him a phone because of his age. I can only give him a phone when he gets more matured and can control himself whenever he is with a phone. If this boy picks my phone for an hour, the money and Data he will borrow from both MTN and Airtel I will have to pay for a whole week. That is the more reason I can't trust him with a phone. 

But I have seen children of ten years handling the phone very well and not bringing their parents into dept. That is the reason why I said a child will use phone according to his or her maturity.
