The name was Thiago Dyer. He was a discrete fellow living alone on a cheap apartment. He was white, had an average physique and nothing else remarkable except for the Newsboy Cap he sported. He kept to himself and nobody mind. It’s a tough neighborhood and minding your own business was the unspoken rule. 

He couldn’t remember much about his youth but the will to fly started from that time. He picked up a book telling a tale of Icarus’ flight. He liked the thought of flying. It was a convenient subject to daydream about when his body ached from stepdad’s tough love. His real dad went out to buy cigarettes and never came back. His mother had different men since then. He knew exactly how many times his mother had someone new. 

They all left some scars on his body like a living a record. Sometimes they’d get home drunk and violent, sometimes they were just violent, but most times it’s just random encounters of being made to feel unwanted. He wanted to fly but couldn’t. 

He didn’t wait for the age of consent to arrive. He left one night after a proper beating and took his chance at life. It was his first flight. 

He tried to soar on turbulent winds. He tried to live but surviving was enough of a challenge. He stole, hurt, and cheated his way through life. Only those with a full stomach, shelter, and clothing can tell you how to live a noble life.

He was feeling low and needed the to get high. He took a jab and sat back slowly slipping away to wonderland. 

He opened his eyes with no future in sight. The headache kept him awake. He lost altitude. 

He was back on the ground. He didn’t have enough money to pay rent, hungry, and wondered when is his next flight.
