DAV Network - Business Analysis

<p>In the previous articles, I wrote about DAV network, I have introduced the project, explained its use cases and reasons why I would invest. In this part, I will be performing a business analysis of the DAV network project, in order to put into perspective the positive and negative properties of the project which may lead to its success or failure.</p>

<h2>SWOT Analysis</h2>
<p>I will be using the SWOT analysis business too which represents Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threats that a project may possess or encounter.</p>
<h3>Strength</h3>
<p><strong>Autonomous Vehicle Technology:</strong> The autonomous vehicles industry is one that has gained a lot of attention and has a lot of big companies like Google, BMW, General Motors and more playing very active roles in the advancement of the technology and bringing it to mainstream use. With this, I believe DAV network and all its users will be in the front row of a new technology that could revolutionize the whole transportation industry.</p>
<p><strong>Working Concepts: </strong>First is the concept of ridesharing and hiring of taxi services online is a proven concept that already works and one in which some big companies have already built a business on. The second concept is that of commercial drone delivery which is already being proven to work and used by an Icelandic online marketplace called Aha. This shows that DAV is not building this platform on its and maybes but on a foundation of already working concepts.</p>
<p><strong>Legal Commercial Use:</strong> According to a map on the whitepaper, the commercial use of autonomous vehicles have already been enacted into the law of about 22 states in the USA. This shows great progress for an industry yet to go mainstream. This is a strength for DAV as it marks the beginning of positive legislation all over the world that will allow the network of AV to run legally.</p>

<h3>Weakness</h3>
<p>The main weakness of this platform is its dependency on the success of another technology. DAV success is dependent on autonomous vehicles being successful and although every sign right now points that it would, until AVs actually go mainstream and reaches its potentials, no one can really tell what will happen. The big question is, how soon before AVs gain mass adoption.</p>
<p>Also, the hardcap is $38 million and 40% of the tokens are available to the public, this, in my opinion, is not good enough and may cause some investors to be skeptical.</p>
<h3>Opportunity</h3>
<p>The transportation business is a very large one that sees billions of dollars in transactions daily, from the purchase of vehicles, different services like maintenance and insurance, to payments of transportation fees. This industry is very wide and spans all over the globe with even the small players having a share of the monetary benefits.</p>
<p>DAV network is tapping into this multi-billion dollars industry, but not as a minnow or small player but as a backbone of a new revolutionary system that provides answers to problems faced across the whole transportation ecosystem. This represents billions of dollars in potential transactions that could be made in DAV tokens, that is billions of people connected to services and vehicles in ways that have not been seen before.</p>
<p>The opportunities DAV offers is so vast that, potential investors and developers can use the network for the development of new innovative services that provides more solution to people's transportation problems and also grows the platform.</p>
<p>DAV network is a gem among ICOs, it is not just a whitepaper project that gives a lot of empty promises but a practical one that is already taking steps to deliver the project for consumer use.</p>
<p>The depth of experience across different related fields, amongst this project's advisors, is a very big strength the provides the opportunity for insights on how to expand into other sectors when the need arises.</p>
<h3>Threats</h3>
<p>Like it is the case with every other technology or business when you lead, others follow. By leading and breaking new grounds DAV network will have to overcome some unforeseen challenges and make new ways, however for every door the network opens, it cannot shut which will give potential imitators and competitors a head start as they will be learning from DAV network all the way.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The blockchain is open source, so is autonomous vehicle's technology, meaning the biggest threat DAV faces is in the form of the potential competition they will be facing when this tech goes mainstream. However, a good and healthy competition is very good for the growth of any sector.</p>
<h2>Conclusion</h2>
<p>This is the points I have been able to deduce by analyzing this project, I believe the positives nevertheless outweigh the negatives and DAV network shows so much promise of being a very successful project.</p>
