<div class="text-justify"> # <center> BEACH DAY </center> <center> **AND EVERYBODY ELSE HAD THE SAME IDEA** </center> <br>  It felt like a great idea at the time, to drive down for two hours to one of my favourite English coasts and spend the hottest day of the year so far in the blazing sun. It had been a long time since I'd seen the sea, and felt the sand on my feet. Surprise, surprise, many people had the same idea. I'm sure you've seen pictures of Bournemouth beach and how packed it was yesterday. Not only were records smashed in terms of people on the beach, there was a record number of parking fines handed out apparently. So not only where people disobeying the government COVID-19 directives, they were breaking all kinds of laws too. Not to digress too much, I kind of anticipated this would happen to an extent. I left home very early in the morning to get there before the beach got busy. It's not actually a very well known beach despite being very beautiful and sandy. It's however popular for being dog friendly, and as a result - *family* friendly.    When I arrived it wasn't too busy. People were actually trying their best to observe social distancing. I could see some small groups of people clustered together, but I assumed they were family members or at least lived together - which was fine. There were two hours of this before the first surge of arrivals. At this point, social distancing started to collapse. I could hear some people protesting when new arrivals camped too close to them. *"Sorry could you not sit so close to us?"*. As time went on, it was more difficult to maintain the distancing so the system started to break down. The tide also started to rise, leaving less space on the actual beach. That was my cue to get up and leave. Just half an hour after I had something to eat in my car, I returned to take some photos from a distance. There it was, the COVID-19 beach. Not as bad as Bournemouth, but way too packed for comfort. The nearby Broadstairs Viking Bay was even worse.
