**Ricky *'Running Watters'* Watters** is a legendary NFL running back, who would actually **retire two seasons after this card's last recorded season.**

I was not alive for a large portion of Ricky's career, and then I was way too young to know about him when I was alive. I've always known he was a good player, and when I found this card to write about I was even more surprised and impressed by his accomplishments. **This man has both a NCAA Football National Championship *and* a Super Bowl Ring.** I am surprised he is not talked about among the RB greats of all time. Nobody talks about Ricky Watters really, ever.

Apparently despite his greatness on the field, many people did not like his attitude off the field. Allegedly, he also was not always the greatest teammate either. This reputation unfortunately is likely the main reason he's not in the NFL Hall of Fame. He's often referred to as one of the greatest NFL players to [*not* be in the HOF.](https://youtu.be/iFxp2BcwrVw)Personally I think his stats and accomplishments will eventually speak for themselves. Who knows for sure though I guess. 

Ricky Watters had one of the best statistical careers of all time for a running back, it's really pretty spectacular! Watters was a beast **both rushing and receiving.** 

Ricky played for three teams, for pretty much the same amount of time. In order he played for the **San Francisco 49ers** for three seasons, the **Philadelphia Eagles** for three seasons, and then the **Seattle Seahawks** for four seasons although he did not play too much in his final year with Seattle. Loyalty to one team is pretty cool, but a guy has to get paid. Plus, what's cool about Ricky was that even though he did change teams, he was productive for every team he played for. **He ran for 1,000 yards on every team he was on in the NFL. He also made the playoffs with each team he was on. Three different teams!** That's special.

- **467 Receptions**
- **4,248 Receiving Yards**
- **14,891 Yards from Scrimmage** - Nearly 15k!
- **91 Total Touchdowns** - 78 rushing, 13 receiving
- **7 seasons reaching 1,000 yards rushing, including 6 consecutive seasons from 1995-2000**
- **5x Pro Bowl**
- **Super Bowl XXIX Champion with the San Francisco 49ers** - 100+ yards from scrimmage and 3 Total Touchdowns in the game!

I am biased towards running backs, I think they're awesome. I don't know much about his off the field stuff, so maybe I just don't have the best perspective there. But Watters has definitely got a HOF career on paper. This is like a Madden Career honestly.
