In this virtual world, you purchase plots of land that you can later transverse, build upon and monetize. There is no limit to what you can do. It's the first digital platform that's completely owned by it's users. # How Decentraland Works? Similar to games like Skyrim, Decentraland is an all immersive virtual universe. However, instead of playing in a two dimensional screen, you participate in a three dimensional world. Non-fungible digital assets that you purchase in the game. Once you own a plot of land, you are free to do whatever you want to do with it. If you are interested in purchasing land, you should check out the marketplace. It's an ERC-20 token that you use to purchase plots of land as well as pay for goods and services. When you buy land, Decentraland burns the MANA that you purchased with. Decentraland protocol has three layers. - **Consensus Layer:** It tracks land ownership and land contents with Ethereum Smart Contract. - **Land Content Layer:** User a decentralized distribution system to render the content in the world. - **Real Time Layer:** Provides peer-to-peer connections for users to interact with one another. Decentraland has also a builder with which you can build whatever scene you want to create. I have also tried one before and this is what I made.
