Privacy First Priority | Privacy Settings You Must Change in Windows 10

Hey Everybody !

Well you never know Microsoft could spy on us ;) 

Showing you today, how to change your privacy settings on your **Microsoft Windows 10**, which are by default active. As you know your own security comes first.

So grab your PC, follow these steps and make your computer secured.

# 1. Turn Off Your Location

Turning off your location is actually **blocking windows 10 and third party apps to access your data in your computer.**

Go to your `Windows Settings`click on `Privacy` and then click on `Location`. In `Location` you will find **Location for this device is on**, click on `Change` and **Turn it off**.

Coming down on the same window you will see **Location history on this device**, click on `Clear` and your location history will be removed.

# 2. Stop Cortana From Getting To Know You

You need to stop windows collecting information about you which includes your **Calendar, Contacts, Location and Browsing History.**

Being on the same **Windows Settings** page find `Speech, inking, & typing` and click on it. You will see a tab `Stop getting to know me`, click on it and then `Turn off`.

# 3. Turn off Your Advertising ID

Here you need to stop windows from delivering you personalized Ads across platforms.

### `Settings > Privacy > General`

In `General` you will see **Change Privacy Options** and below that is **Let apps use my advertising ID for experiences across apps ( turning this off will reset your ID). Just on that green bar and **Turn it off**.

# 4. Lock Down Your Lock Screen

Lock screen is the first thing anyone sees when they open your device. And this screen can have information which you won't want anybody to access.

Go to `System` on `Settings` window, and then click on `Notifications & Actions`. **Turning off** that green bar on `Show Notifications on the lock screen` and `Show alarms, reminders, and incoming VoIP calls on the lock screen`.

# 5. Stop Syncing

Stopping sync will prevent your passwords and settings from syncing across other devices, when you sign in with your Microsoft account.

Go to `Accounts` on `Settings` window and then `Sync Your Settings`. And then **turning off** your `Sync Settings`.

### `Settings > Accounts > Sync Your Settings`
