Thanks for your honesty @aggroed, and yeah the hurt can often open you up some. Sounds like you need to let that bank of work pile a little higher for now, to allow yourself to physically, mentally and emotionally recover from the turmoil. As many of the other comments have expressed, nobody ever looked back at their life and said *"I wish I had spent more time at the office".* Go spend more time with your family now, they won't be around forever and they need you NOW! Family generally lash out when they are hurting and needing your attention. Lack of real communication is usually the root of trouble and strife, and it can be difficult to communicate through a closed office door. The only time I truly regret is when I put that one last email or post ahead of my family. I wish you peace.

My track record with women in general and wives in specific is not good.  So this is going to be worth about half what you pay for it.

You will never get to the late part of your life and say "I wish I'd have given my wife less time and parts of me".  Guarantee you it will not happen.

In the end, it's just like customer retention.  It's a hell of a lot easier to keep the one you've got than to find her replacement.  

Glad you are back, man.  I've missed you.  If you ever need to talk about the 'suitcase drill' I'm here.  I've done it a time or 50.

Thanks for the real world update. So many times people especially in social media only share the highlights of their life and the struggle gets ignored. But the struggle is real and I appreciate anyone who’s willing to be real in this online world. Thanks for sharing and glad to have you here supporting this community! All the best! :-)

Well you just summed up my life in a nut shell. both my parents died by the time i was 25, me and my father in law both like to drink so we are probably pretty toxic to be around each other with a case of beer in a 100 mile radious and i have been on this roller coaster since i was a kid. I want off. Will steemit help me do that? I hope so.

Amazing how things go right? Some minutes ago I wrote on how busy these day's been. Then I remembered I lectured about witnesses and why they should be voting for. Using you as case study that day I realise you are really doing a lot of things at the same time and still be a steem witness? That I will DM you about that. But now I feel sorry already.

I feel sorry because we do not know about the loads of others yet we complain about ours. This only gave me hope @aggroed and I want to tell you that you are a good family man and your hard work is paying off already.

I really admire your strenght and the ambition you have for you and your family.  Its good to be back and good to see you are back too.

Hopefully you get things mended with the spouse. Personally I had recent challenges in this area as well. You have to make it a priority. Glad to see you back at it.

I'm glad you made it back safely, and that you came out here to begin with even in the midst of some turmoil. 

To some extent it feels that stepping away alone (on vacation or whatever) gives you a better perspective on priorities when you get back. For me, anyway, prioritizing wife/family never has a downside. Nobody sits on their deathbed saying 'I wish I hadn't spent so much time with my wife and kids.'

Awwww, I feel terribly sorry about your uncle , accept my condolences. Marriage is a beautiful thing on the long run, but every beautiful things has experience some rough or hard times, and Staying together through it makes good couple. 

I was wondering if the argument with your spouse led to the invitation to leave your house but nevertheless, it’s so pleasing to hear you got it resolved .

I’m really touched about the loss of your family members, I know how it feels to loose just one person when I lost my dad and I mutilply that with 9 loses. What don’t kill you makes you stronger they say and lucky  enough you’ve got friends to help you scale through .
