<div class="text-justify"> Phosphorus is an essential element, which is absorbed by the plant in the form of H2PO4- or HPO42-, performing the following functions: a) it is part of phosphoproteins, phospholipids (membranes), phytins (reserve), it is an essential part of nucleic acids. b) it is an essential constituent of the nucleic acids.</div>

<div class="text-justify"> In addition, phosphorus is an essential constituent of nucleotides; d) it stimulates root development; e) it promotes flowering and seed formation and is required by leguminous plants for biological nitrogen fixation.</div>
