2023 highlight: Cycling life started again with a new bike / 自転車に乗るのが楽しかった2023年

The cold snowy days have eased, and the roads seem free from ice, so I finally took my bike out for a ride. It was so delightful after few weeks!

This year, I graduated from my traditional "mamachari" (mom's bike in Japanese) to a sportier bicycle. Nice to see my old bike on a photo. It made me smile as I drive it to take my daughter to daycare for three years.

Riding on the new bike has been one of the top three joys of 2023, which inspired me to write this post.

I was supposed to go back to Japan in spring to visit my mother in a hospital, but my daughter and partner fell ill, so we had to cancel the trip. Feeling sorry, my partner found a bike in my size on sale at an incredible discount and bought it for me.

When I lived in Kyoto, Japan, I used to ride my GIOS bike everywhere, making long trips whenever I had time. But after moving to Germany and having a child, I settled into a life with a mamachari. Now that my daughter can ride independently, I finally switched to my current bike.

I didn't go on long rides, but I enjoyed cycling to nature-rich areas in the city, picking wild berries and taking photos.

Also, this year, I started a job maintaining a community garden and cycled there almost daily in spring and summer.

It's still cold, so daily biking is on hold until spring, but I'm looking forward to continuing my cycling life next year.

雪の寒い日々が一段落して、路面の凍結もなさそうだったので、久しぶりに自転車に乗りました。気持ちよかったです。

今年はママチャリを卒業して、スポーティーな自転車に戻り、自転車は今年楽しかったことのベスト3に入るなと思い、この投稿を書くことにしました。

写真を探していたら、懐かしいままチャリの写真が出てきました。

母のお見舞いに春に帰国する予定だったのですが、子供とパートナーが体調を崩して中止することになり、申し訳ないと思ったパートナーが、私のサイズの自転車がエラーでものすごく安くなっているのを見つけて買ってくれました。このエラーセールを見つけるのは彼の趣味です。過去一番の成果は、リッツ・カールトンが多分ゼロを一つ間違えていたのを見つけたことでしょうか 😁

京都に住んでいた時は、GIOSの自転車に乗って、どこへでも行って、時間があると遠出していたのですが、ドイツに移って、子供が生まれて、ママチャリライフを送っていました。子供が自分で自転車に乗るようになって、念願の軽くてミニマルな自転車に乗るようになりました。

今年は遠出はしなかったのですが、市内の自然豊かな地域に自転車で出かけて、野生のベリー類をとるのが楽しかったです。

あと、今年から始めたコミュニティーガーデンのメンテナンスの仕事にも、春夏は毎日のように自転車で出かけていました。

まだまだ寒い日が続くので、毎日のように自転車に乗るのは春までお預けですが、来年も引き続き自転車ライフを楽しみたいです。

スポーティーなのはカッコよくて、ママチャリ（とは言っても素敵）は可愛らしい自転車ですね！特に色がいいです。

移住するときに日本からわざわざ自転車を郵送して持ってきたのですが、田舎に引っ越してからは坂がきつすぎて全く乗っていないです。近所の自転車乗りの人たちは、ムキムキでユニフォームを着て本気な人が多いです。日本にいた時は自転車が大好きだったのですが…。ドイツの街中の道は自転車ライフがしやすそうなイメージですが、自転車専用の道路など、設備が整っていますか？

自転車を日本から！私は送れるとは知らず、京都の愛車はお友達に譲りました。こちらも気合の入ったユニフォームの方多いです。私はスポーティーな自転車ですが、ちんたら走っているのでよくベルを鳴らされます😅
