Received No but happy to be back to art & design field / アート・デザイン分野に戻ろう計画

Before and after my daughter was born, I focused on translation and technical writing work. I like it a lot as I can continue working in small chunk of time or having my daughter in baby carry ;) Moreover I could step in the world of crypto thanks to the writing work.

On the other hand I was missing art and design field, where I have had projects since 2010. I participated in international competitions and exhibitions. I enjoyed embedding messages to my work wishing it changes our society and the world a little bit.

Recently I decided to make once a month a proposal to a competition. It was [LE GRAND PRIX DU CARRÉ HERMÈS (International Scarf Competition by HERMES)](https://www.designboom.com/competition/grand-prix-carre-hermes/) for May, Vienna Design Week's [DEPARTURE CHALLENGE: URBAN FOOD & DESIGN](https://www.viennadesignweek.at/en/info/open-calls/open-call-departure-challenge-urban-food-design/) for June. I know you may think they are too much challenging.

I got an email with No for the Vienna Design Week's competition yesterday. My proposal is about bean necklace installation, which I wrote few times on Steemit, to bringing back beans more to our table. Here are some images from my proposal. I'm happy to receive your feedback :)

My partner asked me if I feel sad about the result. It's hard to describe my feeling but talking about sadness I don't feel sad. Rather I'm happy that I could make small progresses on my project, compile my projects on a website, and be back to the art and design field slowly slowly.

I found competitions I would like to challenge for July and August. I just keep on going!

産前産後は時間の自由が効きやすい翻訳や技術構成の仕事を主にしてきたのですが、家族全員生活のペースが整ってきたこともあり、少しずつアートやデザインの分野で世界にメッセージを伝えるプロジェクトを増やしていきたいと思っています。

そんなこんなで先月から毎月何かひとつコンペに応募することに決めました。5月は[エルメスのスカーフデザインのコンテスト](https://www.designboom.com/competition/grand-prix-carre-hermes/)、6月はウィーンデザインウィークの[DEPARTURE CHALLENGE: URBAN FOOD & DESIGN](https://www.viennadesignweek.at/en/info/open-calls/open-call-departure-challenge-urban-food-design/)にプロポーザルを出しました。はいはい、挑戦しすぎというのはわかっています w

ウィーンデザインウィークのコンペには何度かSteemitにも書いた豆のネックレスについて、豆食を見直すという観点から提案してみましたが、昨日見事落ちましたメールが返ってきました。就活でいうおくやみメールのような文面です。。せっかくなのでプロポーザルに作った絵を二点、この投稿に貼っておくことにしました。厳しい意見も大歓迎。

お父ちゃんは「No来て悲しい？」なんて聞いて来ますが、落ちてしまって悲しいという気持ちはあまりなくて、プロポーザルを書きながらプロジェクトについて文章や絵にして考えを整理できたこと、手付かずだったポートフォリオがウェブサイトにまとまりつつあること、こっちの世界に少し戻り始めた感じがすることがむしろすがすがしい感じです。

7月、8月にプロポーザルを提出したいコンペをふたつみつけたので懲りずにチャレンジしていきますよ！

HERMES！！
凄いですやん。
昔環境設計のコンペに、ランドスケープアーキテクトでも無いのに（笑）参加した事がありましたが、参加することでいっぱい学びがあって、その後の土木の仕事にも活かせてよかったかなーなんで思ってます。
何やろな。やりたいことしてるから死ぬほど苦しくても楽しい（笑）そんな感じ。
コンペは懲りないのって大事！

環境設計すごいですね。まだチャレンジしたことない分野です :) 頭の中にあるイメージを実際人に伝える形で文章や絵にすると一歩進みますよね。頑張りまーす！

コンペは私も時々出しています。ただ絵画のコンペは参加費というか出品料が１つのコンペにつき数千円～1万円かかるのが多いので、手当たり次第に出すというわけにはいかないのが悩みです。デザインコンペは参加費無料のところも多いですけど、絵とデザインはやっぱり違うなあと思います……。

yadamaniart さんや olga さん、プロの方もいる中お恥ずかしい投稿でした ;) 

たしかに出品料かかるコンペ、アートだと多いですね。デザインとアートの違い、わかります、プロダクトでもインスタレーションにするとアートによったり・・・でもまだ言葉になりません。10年くらい前によく何が違うのだろうと考えていてまだ答えが出ていません。
