Rediscovering lentil pasta / レンズ豆のパスタに再挑
I was reading a book about food written by Ai Tominaga, one of the Japanese top models. She cares about GI (Glycemic Index) and makes meals rich with protein.

As an alternative to regular wheat pasta, she wrote she tries pasta made with beans as it's low in GI and rich in protein. 

I tried it before when my partner bought it. It was OK but we preferred regular pasta as it's chunky and tasty. And it was too expensive. We eat approximately 380g of pasta for a meal ... 180g for my partner, 100g for me and my daughter.

However, I wanted to give it another try after I read the book. I bought a pack today.

I keep my dinner light so I used it as part of the ingredients of soup.

I used around 50g. 1 pack 300g costs 3.99 EUR. I found a drag store chain sells 250g pack for 1.99 EUR for [a special offer](https://shop.billa.at/produkte/billa-bio-kichererbsen-fusilli/00-448750?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc_shopping_gse&utm_campaign=13460590758&utm_content=124352214918). Ja but less is more. Good to support local stores and organic manufacturers. 

So my amount costs around 70 cents. That's OK and now I'm full. And I could intake 11g of protein from the pasta, some from broccoli and egg. 

About the taste, it was fine. It took only 7 minutes to cook. It is a good alternative for beans. It lasts in the kitchen quite long unlike cooked beans and I don't have to soak and cook it in advance. Still I like real beans though.

My conclusion: I will keep some in my pantry. It's convenient and tasty in soup. I will try to mix them in salad once it gets a bit warmer.

血糖値を上げるGI値(グリセミック・インデックス)を気にして、タンパク質を多く含む食事を作っているとあり、普通の小麦のパスタの代わりに、豆を使ったパスタを食べているとのことでした。

実はこの豆パスタ、ドイツではグルテンフリーブームの影響もあってかいろいろなところで売られていて、以前、相方が買ってきて試したことがあります。豆パスタもまずくはないのですが、普通のグルテンたっぷりでもっちりしたパスタの方がおいしい・・・と思いました。全粒粉のパスタがそんなに好きではないのと似ているかもしれません。

あとは値段が・・・うちは父ちゃん180g、私と子供が大体100gくらい一食に食べるので、380g使います。豆パスタは多分当時はまだ高級で(今でも普通のパスタと比べると安くはないけれど)3-4ユーロしたと思います。4ユーロだと560円、さらに1パック250g-300gなので、パスタだけに700円以上使うなんてないない。参考までに、うちで普通買うパスタはオーガニックでも500g150円で、ソースやサラダをつけても多分みんなで300円とかそのくらいです。

未だ豆パスタは高いものの、今月は一人暮らしだし、本を読んでもう一度試してみたくなり、今日、1パック買ってきました。

夕食は軽めがいいので、スープの具の一つとして使ってみました。

はかりがないので軽量していないのですが、50gほど使ったと思います。1パック300gで3.99ユーロ。調べてみると、ドラッグストアのチェーン店では250g入りが1.99ユーロで特売されているようです。地元の店やオーガニックブランドをサポートしたいのでよし。よし・・・かな、ドラッグストアに行くことがあったら買っちゃうかも w

私が使った量だと約70セントほど。お腹いっぱいになり、パスタで11g、ブロッコリーと卵で追加のタンパク質をとるができました。

味はというといい感じ。パスタとして食べると違いを感じますが、スープの具としてならありです。パスタが柔らかくなるまでにかかる時間は7分で、袋を開けても日持ちするし、事前に水に浸して調理する必要もないのがいい感じです。私は本物の豆も好きなのですが。

結論としては、台所に常備しておきたいなと思いました。家族でパスタとしてバカスカ食べるのは費用的になしですが、スープに入れるのはありな気がします。もう少し暖かくなったら、サラダにも混ぜてみようと思います。

Thanks. I mostly just read people’s posts these days, but in the back of my mind I’m always thinking that I should try writing and posting again too. 

2017 feels like such a long time ago. 😬

Beans pasta must be good and better than the usual pasta, now that I'm on diet I don't eat much normal pasta, and that for an Italian it's really hard but it's try different kind of pasta are a little bit expensive!

If you find it, give it a try. It’s not too bad in soup especially.

To tell the truth, I like Italian white bread and pasta with wheat. Whole wheat pasta is healthy and OK but if I can choose without any concern, I go for white ones. Ja, so many tasty food in Italy! Respect 🇮🇹

The only kind I've tried is vermicelli made from mung beans, because like you say, bean pasta is expensive! Maybe it's possible to make it from scratch with bean flour? There's still the question of storing it for more than a few days though.

Thats’s right vermicelli is a rice noodle too. Good point. I must find one. I liked to use it in Japan but didn’t cook it at all after I moved yo Europe. Thanks for the nice suggestion 😊👍

We often put some bundles of rice or mung bean vermicelli in the hotpot when there's only the soup left. I read about it in some cooking manga, and loved it! Can't remember which one it was now... Oishinbo? Shinmai Shimai No Futari Gohan? Maiko-San? Misoshiru De Kanpai? Aaah, there are too many, and it'd be easier for me to remember if they translated the name too!

豆パスタは通販では売っているようなんですが、うちから徒歩圏内の店ては見たことがありません。京都には豆腐や納豆、湯葉など色々大豆から作られた食品がありますから。ただ、それらも原料の大豆は京都産ではないことが多く、日本各地の大豆で作ったものがほとんどです。京都では丹波の黒大豆とかはありますが普通の大豆はほとんど作られていないようで、京都産業大学の学生が栽培に取り組んでいるそうです。

京都だと明治屋さんにありそう!なんて懐かしい風景を思い浮かべてしまいました。日本、特に京都は大豆製品豊富でおいしいですもんね。錦市場の豆乳ソフト食べたいなあ…🤤
黒大豆、そうなのですね。お正月の甘く似たものとか、甘納豆とか…ああ、日本!日本の食!!
