Getting proper education is one of the most important things as we grow and develop ourselves. Unfortunately, most of lessons they teach us in school are abstract and unnecessary   and lack the fundamentals of how to cope with day-to-day life, how to deal with challenges and roadblocks and move past them.

Have you ever had some experience in your life where you faced difficult situation like job interview, dealing with negative customer, talking with a beautiful girl, facing debt... and you thought "God, I wish they taught me in school how to deal with it." You wished they gave you this practical advice instead of exhausting you with all the algebra and periodic table of elements? 

Does someone don't want us to be successful, reach, happy, to live an amazing life? Maybe we're better served to society if we just shut up, work hard, pay our bills, eat junk food and die?

As we grow older we realize we are lacking so many essential skills that could benefit us greatly. In this article, I’m dishing up some things I wish I was taught back in the days. 

# 1. How to love ourselves

We are so busy doing our "important" things like pleasing others, working entire lives to feel accepted and desirable, we never focus on actually loving ourselves. It seems selfish and non-essential.

We pursue someone else's goals and dreams. Not even trying to figure out what WE actually want in life and what matters to us. When we find our purpose and focus on it, we naturally start radiating positive energy to the world. We become magnetic.

Let the next year be selfish one. Start today. Make a personal resolution. Invest time in improving yourself. Become better person physically, mentally, emotionally.

# 2. How to be financially wise

The ability to handle money is obviously very valuable. In school they never teach you how to get reach. How could they when 98% of professors is poor and wouldn't know how to explain it? 

With so many people retiring poor and financially uneducated, we would all benefit from making school systems focus more on money mastery. Well, all but those on positions that are actually pulling the strings.

Main reason why people struggle financially is they go to school for so many years, but they never learn about money and how to make it work for them. Instead they struggle all their life, working jobs they hate, so that someone squeeze them some money to survive. 

# 3. How to have fun

Not everything needs to be serious and work oriented. But once you get to school they wipe the fun the f*ck out of you. They plant the seed in you that you're supposed to feel bad if you want to take a break from the chaos of everyday life.

They don't teach us how to live in the moment and enjoy life. No. Always be pursuing that grade, that next goal, don't you dare to stop, catch a breath and relax for a moment. And even if you take some time off, spend it by watching some mind-numbing,  brainwashing reality TV. 

Life without fun is not just dull, but very unhealthy. When you go out there and just have fun, the benefits are amazing. You cope better with stress, create bonds with people, learn, experiment...

How often do you really have fun? How often do you forget daily responsibilities and just let yourself go and live in the moment?

# 4. How to create healthy relationships

Early education on how to make bonds with people and create friendly, productive and fun relationships, especially now in the technology era is crucial for someone's fulfillment in life.

Yes, school and college are places where you'll meet and interact with new people, but it doesn't change the fact that there is so little education on this subject. That's why most people settle with mediocre, disrespectful relationships built on neediness. 

Positive and supportive relationships help us feel happier, healthier and more satisfied with our lives. 

# 5. How to live healthy lifestyle

School doesn't educate us on how to make healthy lifestyle choices. How to go about nutrition and diet, how to grow and prepare food, importance of regular exercising, meditation and yoga and other beneficial skills.

Apart from illness, leading unhealthy lifestyle causes lack of energy and motivation to pursue something amazing. The study, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, showed that only 3% of American adults meet the four criteria for healthy lifestyle.

Healthy living is a long-term commitment, but if you educate yourself and start taking necessary steps, your life will change. Our body is our temple and we need to cultivate and take care of it.

It's a scary world out there and traditional education do not teach us how to effectively cope with it. We have to figure it out on our own, through trial and error. Constant learning is most important process in life, and I hope I reminded you of some things that deserve your attention. Only by constantly growing and challenging our comfort zone will we be able to really succeed in life.
