So you found yourself spaced out, tossed out of a space station without suit. You start panicking, grasping for breath and dear life. Are all those popular sci-fi movies showing the real picture? Let's see what happens.

# 1. You would not explode

The skin is very gas-tight and it can withstand a pressure differential of over one atmosphere. That means even though you're catapulted into space straight from your living room or tossed out of a capsule,  you are not going to explode. You would probably swell even twice your normal size, but you wouldn't burst since the skin is very elastic and it will keep your insides inside.

# 2. You would black out and suffocate

Your body will contain enough oxygen to keep you awake for about 15 seconds, unless you start to panic because of this 'inconvenient' situation. In that case, you'll probably pass out after 5 seconds. DO NOT TRY TO HOLD YOUR BREATH (Unless you want to end your miseries quickly). Without atmospheric pressure, air will start to expand, ripping the tissues of the lungs and entering the blood system.

If your crew manages to return you inside a place with atmospheric pressure within 90 seconds you would probably survive without serious consequences.

# 3. Your body would mummify

If there's no Bruce Willis or George Clooney around to save the day, and you're floating dead in the vacuum of the space towards stars, your blood will start to boil. Because you're exposed to unfiltered cosmic radiation, you would start getting nasty sunburns, but you wouldn't decompose in normal way. If you are near the heat source, you would mummify, otherwise, you would freeze.

In any case your body will probably stay together for a long time, drifting through never-ending wastelands of Cosmos.
