<html> <p>http://alden-tan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/10398456_10154615408573976_8199172547004805318_n.jpg</p> <h1>If I could go back in time, any time, I'd choose a time that expands beyond at least twelve years from today.</h1> <p>That'd be a time when my father was still alive and healthy, before the diagnosis of his ALS came.</p> <p>Then on that any given day, I'd just walk up to him, sit down and have a small conversation with him.</p> <p>I'd ask a bunch of questions in an attempt to get to know him better.</p> <p>He was pretty aloof most of the time. All he did was lay down and watch TV after he got home from work. Hence, it'd be a challenge, but dragging him out for a beer together with me would be something to think about for sure.</p> <p>This is all I will do if I could somehow go back in time.</p> <p>Sure, I could use my money then and invest in a bunch of companies that are huge today so I would be super rich in the present, but... there's really nothing more than I want now than to get to know my dad better.</p> <p>I feel questions like these don't apply to me because it has already been ten years since he left us. My family and I have moved on.</p> <p>I cannot imagine another reality.</p> <p>To go back in time and see him alive again, and then return back knowing he's gone again is too much for me to bear.</p> <p>And no, I can't simply tell him what to do differently so he will be healthy and alive.
