Sadly lost forever now it seems (the image hosting site I was using died over a decade ago) I had previously shot some awesome macro images using the flip method.  However I used 2 UV filters JB Welded together to create a coupling ring, and mounted 2 lenses face to face.

One of the images was a cigarette.  You could see the pores in the paper it was so close (used a nice telephoto as the flipped lens which essentially turned it into a microscope).

Certainly a LOT of fun to be had experimenting around with stuff like this.

Yes, and very easy to do.
You can t compare with the quality of dedicated macro lens, but it give interesting results :D

it doesn't work with every lens , 50mm 35mm 28mm are the best options so far , and for +/- $6 , - you can buy a reverse ring on ebay to put on the front of your lens.that way the lens will be mounted to the camera. another thing is that some lenses have electronic aperture and no manual option to change it . so you would probably take pictures at f16 while you want to be at f8.
