 Greetings to all and blessings on your projects. Today I want to talk about something that has been involved in a couple of posts that I have already done;**Kurt Cobain's Martin D-18E**...This was the acoustic guitar that he used on the *unpplugged*<center>

Saludos a tod@s y bendiciones en sus proyectos. Hoy quiero hablar de algo que ha estado involucrado en un par de publicaciónes que ya hice; La Martin D-18E de **Kurt Cobain**.. Esta fue la guitarra acústica que él uso en el *unpplugged*

It all started back in the year 93 when <strong>Kurt</strong> went to the guitar store "Voltage Guitar" in search of an acoustic guitar which he wanted to get. So much so that I travel from Seattle to Los Angeles, the city where the store is located even today, with a set of high-ranking clients such as they are; <em>Eric Clapton</em> and <em> Jimmy Page </em>, among others.

the edition of this guitar in itself is something strange, since the manufacturer company; <strong>Martin</strong>, only specialized in purely acoustic guitars, but it was in 1959 when they decided to try this new electro-acoustic version, adding 2 <em>DeArmond</em> pickups in their bridge and neck respectively. <strong>Kurt</strong> personalized it even more by changing it to left-handed mode and adding one more <em>Bartolini</em> pickup in the center, at the soundboard's mouth.. Thus turning it into a perfect Frankestein that would be about to make history without knowing it, because for At that time the issues of the unpplugged were still under discussion, as <strong>Kurt</strong> refused to agree until then.

## Fate of the Martin D18-E

finally the majestic guitar ended up in the hands of Kurt's daughter, **Frances Bean Cobain**.. Who inherited it when she was just a baby. As the years went by, ***Frances*** grew up, married, then divorced in a complicated process which resulted in the loss of the guitar, leaving her ex-husband with her.. A real shame.

Al paso de los años ***Frances*** creció, contrajo matrimonio, luego se divorcio en un proceso complicado el cual tuvo como consecuencia la perdida de la guitarra, quedandonse con ella su ex-esposo.. Una verdadera pena.

He aquí el punto al cual quería con este post. Finalmente siguieron pasando los años y fue justo el año pasado (2020) y en plena pandemia cuando la casa de remates *Julien’s* anuncio que la guitarra estaba de vuelta, lista para ser vendida empezando la subasta con 250mil$. Parece una locura? Ya de por si cuando **Kurt** la compro en el 93, pago por ella $6.500.. Aun considerando que las guitarras **Martin** son de alto nivel de calidad, es una locura. Pero era un guitarra que estaba a punto de hacer historia en aquel iconico concierto.. Y por ello se termino vendiendo en nada mas y nada menos que la brillante suma de $6 millones . Fue el multimillonario empresario **Peter Freeman** quien desembolsillo tal cantidad, alegando ademas que la usaria en una gira a nivel mundial para recaudar fondos para ayudar a artistas.

Todo comenzó allá por el año 93 cuando **Kurt** fue a la tienda de guitarras *"Voltage Guitar"* en busca de una guitarra acústica que quería comprar. La edición de esta guitarra de por sí es algo extraña, puesto que la compañía fabricante; <strong>Martin</strong>, solo le especializaba en guitarras netamente acústicas, pero fue en 1959 cuando decidieron probar con esta nueva versión electro-acústica, agregando 2 pastillas <em>DeArmond </em>en su puente y mástil respectivamente. <strong>Kurt </strong>la personalizo aun mas haciéndola cambia a modo zurdo y agregándole una pastilla mas <em>Bartolini </em>en el centro, en la boca de la caja de resonancia...convirtiéndola así en una perfecta <em>Frankestein </em>que estaría a punto de hacer historia sin saberlo, ya que por esos tiempos aun estaban en discusión los asuntos del unpplugged, pues <strong>Kurt </strong>se negaba a accerder hasta entonces.

### $$ AUCTION $$

here is the point at which I wanted with this post. Finally, the years continued to pass and it was just last year (2020) and in the midst of a pandemic when the auction house Julien’s announced that the guitar was back, ready to be sold, starting the auction with $ 250,000. Does it seem crazy? Already when Kurt bought it in '93, he paid $ 6,500 for it.. Even considering that **Martin** guitars are of a high level of quality, it is crazy. But it was a guitar that was about to make history in that iconic concert.. And for that reason it ended up selling for nothing more and nothing less than a brilliant sum of $ 6 million. It was the billionaire businessman **Peter Freeman** who disbursed such an amount, also claiming that he would use it on a world tour to raise funds to help artists.

I want to end the post saying that; We should never be afraid to make changes, to take great steps, no matter how crazy it may seem at times, these kinds of decisions can always bring great things to our lives.
