Corría el año 2017, José Madero se encontraba en un buen momento en cuantoa su carrera musicalde solista ya que venía de sacar su elogiado y reconocido album *"Carmesí"*. El cual era una recopilación de varias canciones que tenía guardadas en su épocade "Pxndx", pero que no tenían cabida en esta faceta. La mayoría de sus fanaticos lo recibieron bastante bien. Sin embargo, muchos todavía no se acostumbraban a su nuevo estilo musical, por lo que Pepe se puso manos a la obra y comenzó a experimentar más en su musica, buscando crear una identidad, una firma singularque lo caracterizara como quién era él, José Madero. Fue entonces que lanzó su 2do trabajo como solista ***"Noche"***, disco que tuvo criticas bastante divididas, tanto por aquellos que preferían su trabajo anterior como aquellos que consideraban este album algo decente, el día de hoy quiero hacer una review/critica a este album, hablando un poco de él y sus canciones.

El album comienza con la canción ***"Noche de Lluvia"***, la cual parece *country* con ligeros toques *pop* (o al menos así lo siento yo), con una guitarra que juega bastante con la voz, y una lírica que nos habla de como el personaje a pesar de estár en medio de la lluvia, se siente omnipotente y que nada puede afectarlo ¿tendrá alguna conexión con las demás canciones?. La siguiente canción es ***Lo Sobrenatural***, donde lo quemás destaca es el teclado, el cual se siente medio baladoso y que también juega mucho con la voz,mientras que las guitarrasmarcan los coros, junto con una letra que nos habla sobre el como el personaje en cuestión siente algo intenso por cierta persona, y que casualmente se encuentran juntos y están a punto de entablar una conversación, pero no se le viene nada a la mente, por lo que le pregunta "*¿crees en lo sobrenatural?*". ***"MCMLXXX"*** o 1980 es una canción bastante curiosa,en la que resaltan unos bongos junto con un piano que marca gran parte de la melodía de la canción, algo bastante recurrente en el disco, mucha gente no sabe exactamente que genero es esta canción, ni el propio José pudo definirlo, es bastante similar a la *bachata* con toques de *bossanova*, pero solo estoy especulando, su letra es confusa,ya que en parte habla sobre el cuestionamiento de Dios y el amor mismo. ***"El Ser Supremo"*** es la canción más calmada del disco, acercandose más a sus trabajos actuales, el cual cuestiona el amor y los gajes de este, sobre el como no corresponderle a esa persona que anhelamos y que luego nos es arrebatado(a) por alguien más. ***Noche de Brujas*** cuya tramanos habla sobre como un chico asiste a una fiesta de disfraces, junto con su amada, la cual se desenvuelve y disfruta mucho la fiesta, sin embargo, el no tanto, ya que no quiere seguir siendo tan timido, por lo que desearía ser alguien más. ***Nueva Identidad*** es mi canción favorita de todo el álbum, me encanta su ritmo, su lirica y melodía; se siente ligeramente como un rock sureño de los Estados Unidos, rozando entre *rock n´roll* y *country*, cuya letra podría ser una secuela directa de la canción anterior, ya que nos define como el protagonista, busca a alguien que lo ayude a forjar su nueva identidad y que sea capaz de estar con él para escribir su propia historia. ***"Fantasmas"*** es otro tema que le tira mucho a la *bachata*, cuya letra nos habla sobre el amor no correspondido y el como ahora ya no hay lugar para esa persona que en su momento quisiste peroque ahora debes olvidar y no darle lugar en tu nueva vida. ***"Noche de Baile"*** es una canción suave pero a la vez con cierto ritmo, y la melodía juega mucho con la voz, haciendo ver que Pepe tiene un gran poder vocal, cuya letra nos habla de una persona que ya no se encuentra en este mundo, pero que lo mejor de todo era cuando bailaba con ella al ritmo de la buena musica. ***"¡Esta noche es la Reunión!"*** una canción cuyo ritmos rockeros son increibles, rozandoun poco con el *pop* y el *country* de nuevo, que nos cuenta una historia surrealista de una mujer que atrapa a los hombres para quizás esclavizarlos o asesinarlos, y que al parecerlo a hecho con casi un millón. Y cerramos con ***"Sonámbulo"*** el cual es una canción que a mi parecer merecuerda mucho a los generos trópicales como la *samba*, quizás el *calipso* o incluso *merengue*, no sabría como definirlo realmente, pero siento una vibra o aura meramente brasileña; el transfondo de esta canción es bastante turbio, ya que estáinspirada en un suceso real ocurridoenun colegio de Monterrey en el que un joven realizó una masacre en su colegio, algo que me recuerda bastante al tema "Pumped up Kicks" de *Foster the People*.

No todos les agradó mucho este disco, y pues la verdad, está un poco raro, pero a la vez es disfrutable. Lo disfruto más que *Carmesí*, ya que aquí me siento más identificado con varias de las líricas, también adorosus ritmos que van variando, incluso se hacen muy movidos y geniales. Hasta la fecha, pepe no ha vuelto a sacar canciones como ***MCMLXXX*** o ***Sonámbulo***, pero espero que retome dichos generos algún día. Este albuma diferencia de muchos otros, no trata de aspectos tan personales de Pepe, muchos de sus temas son referentes a la soledad, el aislamiento, la locura e incluso el alcoholismo, lo unico que los une es su estética nocturna en blanco y negro, como si de una pélicula antigua se tratase. Con los años ha cosechado un grupo de fans y se ha vueltoun disco muy querido. Por lo menos yo le doy un puntaje de ***7.8***, es un disco innovador, interesante y con buenas líricas, cuyos ritmos te harán bailar en alguna ocasión, pero se siente deficiente en algunos aspectos.

The album begins with the song ***"Noche de Lluvia "***, which seems *country* with slight *pop* touches (or at least that's how I feel), with a guitar that plays a lot with the voice, and a lyric that talks about how the character, despite being in the middle of the rain, feels omnipotent and that nothing can affect him. Will it have any connection with the other songs? The next song is ***Lo Sobrenatural***, where what stands out most is the keyboard, which feels a bit balladic and also plays a lot with the voice, while the guitars mark the chorus, along with lyrics that tell us about how the character in question feels something intense for a certain person, and that they happen to be together and are about to engage in a conversation, but nothing comes to mind, so he asks "*Do you believe in the supernatural?*". ***"MCMLXXX "*** or 1980 is a rather curious song, in which some bongos stand out along with a piano that marks a large part of the melody of the song, something quite recurrent in the album, many people do not know exactly what genre this song is, not even José himself could define it, it is quite similar to *bachata* with touches of *bossanova*, but I am only speculating, its lyrics are confusing, since in part it talks about the questioning of God and love itself. ***"El Ser Supremo "*** is the calmest song on the album, closer to their current works, which questions love and its trappings, about how not to correspond to that person we long for and then is taken away from us by someone else. ***Halloween*** whose plot talks about how a boy attends a costume party, along with his beloved, which is unwrapped and enjoys the party, however, not so much, since he does not want to continue being so shy, so he would like to be someone else. ***Nueva Identidad*** is my favorite song of the whole album, I love its rhythm, lyrics and melody; it feels slightly like a southern rock from the United States, bordering between *rock n'roll* and *country*, whose lyrics could be a direct sequel of the previous song, since it defines how the protagonist is looking for someone to help him forge his new identity and who is able to be with him to write his own story. ***Fantasmas "*** is another song that is very much a *bachata*, whose lyrics tell us about unrequited love and how now there is no place for that person that you once loved but now you must forget and not give him/her a place in your new life. ***Noche de Baile "*** is a soft song but at the same time with a certain rhythm, and the melody plays a lot with the voice, showing that Pepe has a great vocal power, whose lyrics tell us about a person who is no longer in this world, but the best of all was when he danced with her to the rhythm of good music. ***Tonight is the Reunion!"*** a song whose rock rhythms are incredible, touching a little with *pop* and *country* again, which tells us a surreal story of a woman who traps men to perhaps enslave or murder them, and who apparently has done it with almost a million. And we close with ***"Sonámbulo "*** which is a song that in my opinion is very reminiscent of tropical genres such as *samba*, maybe *calypso* or even *merengue*, I wouldn't really know how to define it, but I feel a purely Brazilian vibe or aura; the background of this song is quite murky, as it is inspired by a real event that happened in a school in Monterrey in which a young man carried out a massacre in his school, something that reminds me a lot of the song "Pumped up Kicks" by *Foster the People*.

Not everyone liked this album very much, and to be honest, it's a little weird, but at the same time it's enjoyable. I enjoy it more than *Carmesí*, since here I feel more identified with several of the lyrics, I also love its rhythms that vary, and even become very moving and cool. To date, Pepe has not re-released songs like ***MCMLXXX*** or ***Sonámbulo***, but I hope he will return to these genres someday. This album, unlike many others, does not deal with such personal aspects of Pepe, many of its themes are related to loneliness, isolation, madness and even alcoholism, the only thing that unites them is their nocturnal aesthetics in black and white, as if it were an old movie. Over the years it has garnered a fan base and has become a beloved album. At least I give it a score of ***7.8***, it is an innovative, interesting album with good lyrics, whose rhythms will make you dance on occasion, but it feels deficient in some aspects.
