En Venezuela, mi hermoso país, no hay estaciones y en consecuencia, no hay primavera. Sin embargo, existen determinados meses de floración, que se enaltecen entre colores, formas y aromas. Hace unos días visité un hermoso pueblo de mi estado, y pude maravillarme con el color de las flores que había en el hogar donde estuve invitada a almorzar.

A few days ago I visited a beautiful town in my state, and I could marvel at the color of the flowers in the home where I was invited to have lunch.

Fue realmente una experiencia enriquecedora y relajante el hecho de observar tanta belleza, reconocer las fragancias de la naturaleza y apreciar como las aves e insectos también podían disfrutarlo. Y es que las flores tienen todas esas artimañas para atraerlos y lograr polinizarse, un hecho importantísimo para seguir generada descendencia. El clima de la zona parece ser exquisito y determinante en la presencia de buenos suelos. Y es así que por primera vez en mi vida pude ver un árbol de chayota, una rica curcubitácea, que engalana ricos platillos venezolanos. Maravillarse con la naturaleza es una vía para valorarla, cuidarla y reconocer la importancia para nuestra existencia.

And the fact is that flowers have all these tricks to attract them and achieve pollination, a very important fact to continue generating offspring. The climate of the area seems to be exquisite and decisive in the presence of good soils. And so it is that for the first time in my life I was able to see a chayota tree, a rich curcubitácea, which adorns rich Venezuelan dishes. Marveling at nature is a way to value it, take care of it and recognize its importance for our existence.

Dice Mateo 6:28 que debemos aprender de las flores que están en los campos, que no trabajan para hacerse su vestimenta, pero ni siquiera el Rey Salomón pudo vestir como ellas. Este versículo describe perfectamente la belleza de la naturaleza, su sincronía, su perfección y la sencillez que engalana nuestros días. Si definitivamente no trabajamos para conservar al planeta, llegaremos a perdernos de todo lo que hoy estamos disfrutando, y tal vez ni siquiera seremos nosotros los desafortunados, sino las próximas generaciones. 

> Matthew 6:28 says that we should learn from the flowers that are in the fields, that they do not work to make their own clothes, but not even King Solomon could dress like them. This verse perfectly describes the beauty of nature, its synchronicity, its perfection and the simplicity that adorns our days. If we definitely do not work to conserve the planet, we will miss out on all that we are enjoying today, and maybe it will not even be us who are unfortunate, but the next generations.

Para los que no sabían, la flor se corresponde con el órgano reproductor de un vegetal. Algunas son hermafroditas y otras unisexuales. Estas necesitan de agentes polinizadores para poder hacer llegar el grano de polen al ovulo y así fecundarse. Como resultado de esta fecundación, se generan frutos, algunos aprovechables para nosotros los seres humanos.

They need pollinating agents to be able to get the pollen grain to the ovule and thus to be fertilized. As a result of this fertilization, fruits are generated, some of which are usable for us humans.

Vemos entonces que, son un verdadero milagro de la evolución, y que junto a ellos se encuentra asociada una larga cadena de vida, razón que sin lugar a dudas nos invita a protegerlas de nosotros mismos. Cuando arrancas una flor de un vegetal, le impides la perpetuación de la vida, es como si lograras arrancar tus órganos sexuales, solo que ellas no se saben defender.

> We see then that they are a true miracle of evolution, and that with them is associated a long chain of life, reason that undoubtedly invites us to protect them from ourselves. When you pluck a flower from a vegetable, you prevent the perpetuation of life, it is as if you managed to pluck your sexual organs, only that they do not know how to defend themselves.

Imagina un campo verde lleno de colores ¿Sublime, no? La perfección sobre nuestros sentidos, la vida que palpita, el amor que resalta y ansiedades que bajan. Así es la naturaleza,  así es la perfección biológica de la existencia.

> Imagine a green field full of colors, isn't it sublime? Perfection over our senses, life that throbs, love that shines and anxieties that descend. Such is nature, such is the biological perfection of existence.
