¡Llegó el día! Estábamos realmente asustados con este momento pues algunas personas comentaban que la Curi podía llegar a consumir a sus crías. El día anterior al parto ella lucia muy agotada y ya casi no se desplazaba ¡Tenia forma de pera!

A la mañana siguiente, mi niño se asoma a mirarla –como todas las mañanas- y comienza a saltar feliz ¡Parió! ¡Curi parió! Y en efecto, dos lindas crías estaban junto a ella y eran tan grandes que, cualquiera pudiese pensar que las colocamos allí. No había restos de nada, imaginamos ya se había comido la placenta e incluso los había limpiado.

¡Son realmente hermosos! Se nota a simple vista que la macho tenia caracteres muy dominantes pues se parecen mucho a él. Medían aproximadamente 10 cm y su pelaje es suave y hermoso. De una vez se lanzaron a mamar, y ella se adaptaba a hacerlo. Al principio se notaba arisca, pero al pasar de los días se acostumbraba.

 Me llamaba realmente la atención lo largo de su pezón y el hecho de que sólo se le maduró uno solo, el otro no lo utilizó. Las crías debían esperar o luchar para lograr amamantarse ¡uno más que otro incluso! Se acostaban cerca de ella y nosotros ¡Sentíamos mucha ternura!

Sé que mucho de ustedes estaban atentos a este acontecimiento y por eso lo compartimos. Ya tienen más de 15 días y se ve muy claro su comportamiento. El más albino, es amoroso, tranquilo y comelon; la persigue siempre y se ve inseguro al comer. El otro, con sus dos orejas marrones, es curioso, se sale de su caja y come rápidamente, incluso le quita la comida de la boca a su mamá.

Si los comparo, podría decir que el primero se comporta como su padre y el segundo ¡Terrible como su progenitora! Luego de los 15 días Curimar se notaba cansada, nos miraba y pedía que la sacáramos de su caja con sus ojitos tiernos, por lo que procedimos al destete. No hubo problema porque ellos ya desde los primeros días también comían vegetales, a parte de la lactancia.

Lo más terrible tal vez fue desapegarlos, pero, también fue necesario al sexarlos y descubrir que ambos eran machos. La genética nos dice que, los incestos impiden la recombinación, lo que puede traer la expresión de caracteres no favorables para la vida. Se los presentamos a Álvaro y ¡Los rechazó! ¡Es el macho alfa! Entonces no podíamos tampoco colocarlos junto a él.
