HF21 - starting flagging

Hi,

so that the HF21 is here with it's new features, I was thinking that I might do some curating, now that it is harder to earn by posting.

One way to gain more is to curate on the right time and another way is to use the flags.

I did yesterday both of them. Flagging is good because it restores the value back into the reward pool. I will try to do some daily flagging on plagiarist posts. Like this the whole armies of low income plagiarism will be stopped. I understand that some do this for surviving, but I don't care. They might invest the energy to create something, so I see it as a good thing.

I do flag only with a reason and flagging shall be done only with a clear head and with reason. Plagiarism, theft, abuse and mindless hate speech are for me good reasons. 

Content is not, as my taste can differ from others and nobody can describe what is valuable. Also, me personally don't real agree with the socialistic approach of disagreement on rewards and would not flag for this reasons at the moment. I will focus on keep this place clean.

How do you see it? Would you flag to make this place clean one plagiarist at the time?

1. You are wasting your impact, if you downvote anything below 0 c.

2. Since the rewards are not proportional anymore, you would get the most effect out of your flag, by flagging a highly rewarded post.



Sadly, I do not know the turning points of the curve. From what I understand: with a super-popular post, your flag would be worth less.

I share your opinion. In addition, I see one more reason for downvoting:
Disagreement with payout (content ok, but payout too high).
I will be very careful with flagging, because flagging doesn't cause friendship.

Flagging is a dangerous sword, as people may take it very personal. I watched some flag-wars in the past, and I saw the again now with HF21. How to avoid that? I have no clue...
