Hello, <br><br>
I was out and about a lot today. The picture doesn't really fit because it's from the landing. I'm in New York for another day, where we're going to visit a rooftop bar. I spent the whole day walking to Brooklyn and back to the Financial District, where our hotel is. I can actually see the Federal Reserve from the window of my room. I like the city with all its grandeur, even if the people are rather suspicious and mostly unfriendly. I like the history and the Art Deco that is everywhere. Besides the old European buildings, I love the Art Deco and New York is simply the Art Deco city of the world.

There are many people who are against old architecture and would put up an ugly block instead. I, on the other hand, always try to save the old. If I renovate something and it still contains old details, then these are also preserved. In the USA, I discovered the throwaway society. Everything is only used once and then ends up in the bin. Somehow this will spread to people's minds and relationships will only be geared towards profit. I think that's a great pity. Nevertheless, I'm always happy to be here because it's fun and motivates me to see that things can be done differently. How do you see it?

heute war ich viel unterwegs. Das Bild passt eher nicht, den es ist von der Landung. Bin noch ein Tag in New York, wo wir eine Roof-Top Bar besuchen werden. War den ganzen Tag zu Fuß unterwegs, bis Brooklyn und wieder in den Financial District, wo unser Hotel ist. Eigentlich sehe ich die Federal Reserve von dem Fenster meines Zimmers. Ich mag die Stadt, in ihrer Große, auch wenn die Menschen eher misstrauisch sind und meistens unfreundlich. Ich mag die Geschichte, und das Art Deco, was überall zu sehen. Neben den alten europäischen Gebäuden, liebe ich das Art Deco, und New York ist schlicht die Art Deco Stadt der Welt.<br><br>
Es gibt viele, die gegen alte Architektur sind und stattdessen einen hässlichen Block hinstellen würden. Ich versuche hingegen immer, das Alte zu retten. Wenn ich etwas sanieren und es noch alte Details beinhaltet, dann werden diese auch erhalten. In den USA habe ich die Wegwerfgesellschaft entdeckt. Alles wird nur einmal benutzt und landet dann auf dem Müll. Irgendwie wird sich das auch auf die Gedanken der Menschen ausbreiten und Beziehungen werden nur noch auf Gewinn ausgerichtet sein. Das finde ich sehr schade. Dennoch bin ich immer froh, hier zu sein, denn es macht mir Spaß und motiviert mich zu sehen, dass es auch anders geht. Wie seht ihr das?
