# Hey Guys!!!  I'm back!
(which may mean nothing to most of you...)

How quickly things can change.  One day you are blogging daily on a blockchain by the name of steem... next thing you know, a tyrannical dictator convinced an exchange to lend a bit of juice to his cause.  Shortly after that, we are airdropped to safety in another land and I end up jaded at the whole thing.  

The only thing that was working for me was @splinterlands, so I powered everything down on both blockchains and went all in on my monster deck.  I didn't know what I was going to do and I figured that I could earn something playing the game while I figured it out.

Playing in the big leagues was fun.  I had a few good runs and got some pretty good rewards but I also knew that it was temporary.  As much as I appreciate splinterlands, if your entire crypto portfolio is spread out between alpha, beta, promo, reward and untamed... it pretty much counts as one basket.

It is a great game, but all assets are at least somewhat tethered to the dollar.  Next bear market, I will go back into splinterlands.  I put in quite a bit of money into that game and took likely twice as much out and still have some decent holdings.  Splinterlands is a great way to learn and earn and grow in the crypto world... but bull runs are all about trying to fast track your way to the moon and I am not going to miss this one.

### Getting back into BTC

When I saw bitcoin start to move and saw the potential to sell DEC at the dollar peg (at the land presale), I figured it was time to diversify my portfolio.  I got some BTC at the $11K range and bought up to about $30K as my monsters sold.

There was a crypto void that needed to be filled once I could not longer compete in splinterlands (now I just play little league games).  I found myself on LeoFinance every day reading articles.  It is great!

As a crypto buff who has been studying since early 2017, I watched the bull market come and go, and never stopped looking at the market.  The last 4 years were getting me ready for this year.  I was a steem dolphin, and I got my PAL airdrop and shortly after that I got my LEO airdrop.  I didn't sell the LEO.  I read @khaleelkazi hyping up the project on day one, and I believed him when he told me not to sell.  I figured holding onto the few bucks of it that I had wouldn't hurt at all.  I am glad I listened to him.  

The LEO token has really performed wonderfully and I am glad I held on to most of it.  Did I sell some?  Yes... Do I regret selling some?  Yes.  Did I buy it back later at a higher price?  Yes.  Did I regret that? Nope.  I am happy to be holding onto LEO, I want more, and I cannot wait for the coming of "Project Blank."

I have been following @edicted and was really struck by their statement about when Hive is back up at $1+, dolphin status will be a sought after thing.  It clicked.

### Dolphin status activated!

I worked so hard on steem to get to dolphin status only to have the whole plan blow up in my face.  when steem died, my passion for it died too.  As things are looking like they are heading into good times... I certainly don't want to miss my chance this time.  I needed to take a break after Steem died.  I needed the dust to settle.  

I bought 5000 Hive and powered it up a few days ago.  If bitcoin does some more magic while Hive stays low, I might double down on some more Hive power.  This time around, I plan on keeping a balanced portfolio with BTC dominance where it should be (High).

### Wrecked in 2017

In early 2017, I put in a lot of money into mining equipment.  Things were going great but money got low and I had to shut the machines off.  I didn't sell at the right time and pretty much was left with some obsolete (maybe to be resurrected at the 100K mark) s9's and a few thousand dollars worth of crypto that was mined.  The 2017 bull run was a great time of learning, but unlike so many that got smashed into pieces in 2017 (I was one of them), I was just getting started.

I held onto everything I had, made some trades here and there and ended up all in on splinterlands, while holding onto some LEO. I am ready for this bull market and all of the promises that it whispers to those that are ready for the ride (and the exit).

If I can convince myself to sell my splinterlands cards (at a pretty much perfect time), I can convince myself to sell anything.  

### What to expect

I am excited to be back on Hive and Leo.  I plan on writing about the crypto markets, mining (I have some important insight that I can share), projects that I like, and my strategies and moves that I am making.  I also might continue to write about politics, Hip Hop, Philosophy, construction and whatever else comes to mind.

I am a husband, step-dad, journeyman carpenter, business owner, Hip Hop Kultural Specialist, with a Philosophy/Political Science degree.  I have been on the pulse in the world of crypto since bitcoin started to run up from $2000 - $3000... a newcomer to many here... but have seen some ups and downs by now.

I look forward to your comments, folows, upvotes, suggestions, conversations... I look forward to being back here as more than just a consumer of content.  I look forward to being a contributing member of the community again.
