SPS is the [governance](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-governance) token for [splinterlands](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/what-is-splinterlands) but it comes with multiple utilities in the game and this is why having more is good for a better gaming experience. One of the best use cases for the [SPS](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-splintershards-sps) holding is that we get a higher reward multiplier and this is the reason why I am trying to grow my overall SPS holding in the game. I prefer to keep all my [tokens](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token) staked in the game account because this way I can be part of the better reward multiplier. Recently the price for sps has gone up and because of this I had to put a pause on the buy but still whatever reward I earn is staked. Some rewards are distributed in the staked firm but some rewards I get in liquid form that I keep on powering up from time to time.

There is no point keeping the tokens in liquid because it does not earn any [APR](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-annual-percentage-return-apr) and also with the liquid holding we cannot earn a better season reward because it is not counted for the reward multiplier. Whatever tokens I buy from the market are also staked immediately because that is how it should be and the moment I power up then it starts earning the reward for me. Although there has been a reduction in the APR in the last few weeks and it is because most people are staking sps. 

#### My SPS Goal for 2024

I often share my post about SPS accumulation and how I am trying to grow my SPS holding. This is the snapshot of my balance as of now and currently, I have 145K SPS in my game account. My goal is to have 200K SPS this year. I wanted to have 150K SPS by the end of 2023 but there is some gap which is because the price was increased in December month otherwise I would have done it. Now because my goal is to have 200K SPS hence I am running short of 55K SPS that I need to cover this year and I hope that the market will give me the opportunity where I should be able to buy more and grow my holding.

I am bullish on SPS because I believe it is highly undervalued considering what use case the token has got in the project and with the [lands](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-land) it is going to be even more valuable however that might take some time or probably when more people will be starting on the game. I expect that in the next bull run, Splinterlands going to get more attention and hype since it is a leading project in the segment. I remember the growth this game showed in 2021 and I expect that it will repeat in the next [bullrun](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bull-market) cycle which can be in this year or probably in 2025.

#### My SPS Strategy

This year also I will continue to accumulate SPS as much as I can and we'll see whenever there is an opportunity to buy in the market. I earn SPS through different ways in the game but this earning is not sufficient for me to reach my goal and this is why I must buy from the [market](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-market). Now since the price](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-price) is up so it is not the right time to buy but I believe there will be some correction later on and then I will see if that is the right point to jump into the market and buy the bag for sps. I will be trying my best to grow my holding as much as possible this year and I do not have any plan to sell off and book profit even if the price goes up because my stake is from the player's point of view and I want to play in higher league with higher reward multiplier.

Now since we are at the beginning of this year I believe this is a good time to plan the goal for the year so that we get enough time to work on it. I have already defined my goal for SPS through this post and I will try to grow as soon as I can however I will continue to focus on the building throughout this year. The game is fun and with lands it is even more exciting but we cannot ignore the [rebellion edition](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-rebellion-edition) cards that are another excitement in the game. I hope I stay on track with my SPS building and we continue to share the progress from time to time.
