Node validator licence in splinterlands in one of the aside launched with a much higher price than it is now available. It was expected that this will go live in the year 2023 but so far there is no update that when it is going to happen however we are left with half of the year almost so still there is plenty of time to get it done. I remember that the initial cost of the licence was discounted but I was not lucky enough to be part of that sale hence I had to purchase it at a higher price because I wanted to own at least one license.

It is part of my assets-holding strategy because I want to own almost every asset in the game. This is a great innovation in the project I believe because this way the team is trying to make it decentralised and more focus should be on the community because they will be able to run the game without any intervention from a single entity. Running a node means the power is given to the community and we anyways have it in place through proposal so any change that is required to be done in the game has to go through this process.

### License Utility & price

As of now, licence utility has not been enabled in the game but it should be done this year and these days there is more focus on the lands. We note that the team has been focusing more on the land development and it is good because this is another most awaited product of the game so we should be able to have it this year. They have already shared a road map and it seems that we are going to have the licence utility implemented before the end of this year.

This is the market chart for the license and now this price has come down a lot. Bid has been placed for a 2k hive whereas the selling price is 2250 when the hive price is approximately $0.35 and I think its a pretty low price for the license.

### My License Buying

I purchased a licence from the hive engine by paying 4k hive and it was worth $2k that time. As per the current price, I can get one license for almost $800 and if I calculate now then I lost the 60% value of my licence. I did buy a license for the long-term goal hence the current price is not a problem for me instead if things go well then I can buy another one. I am running short of funds at the moment because most I invested in SPS and still trying to do more so that I can have a bigger SPS holding. My focus this time is only on SPS and because of this reason I don't want to buy a license however I can say that its on my wishlist to have one more license. 


### License Holding & Daily Reward

I hold one license and with this, I get 20 SPS and 4 vouchers daily. This is a good reward if the price is good but these days the price is low so in terms of $value its less. I am not worried about the asset price and this way I am able to accumulate more SPS and that is what makes the difference. I also accumulate vouchers so once the price is good then I can think about voucher conversion to SPS. We will be getting continuous rewards with licence holding so once the price of SPS improves then in terms of dollar value it is going to be significant and that is why a lot of people have purchased the licence with long-term goals and even I did the same.

### My Strategy

It is clear that I am not going to sell my licence because it is part of my long-term investment in the game however the current price is something that makes me buy another one. it may take some time for me to go for another one because I run short of the funds and it is because I am more focused on SPS once that is done then probably I will think about buying another license for myself. Holding two licences can be a great decision I believe because both will continue to generate a decent amount of SPS and voucher every day and if the value appreciates then it will be a great passive income.

Even when the license will be enabled in the game then also it is going to be a good option since there must be multiple options to choose from even if you are not interested to run it. I anticipate that we are going to have it live this year however no update has been shared by the team for a long.
