[Splinterlands](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/what-is-splinterlands) game is one of my favourite games that I have been playing for the last four years. I have seen this game evolving over the years and needless to say that the year 2021 was the best time in the game. It was the time when the [Chaos Legion edition](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-chaos-legion-edition) was launched and also SPS was introduced as a governance token in the game ecosystem. It was announced a few months back that the game would be launching its governance token which will be known as [SPS](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-splintershards-sps) however [DEC](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-dark-energy-crystal-dec) was already part of the game. Dec was just a utility token in the game and this was never considered a governance token. The token price was very good after its launch and continued the same for a few months however later on things started dropping and I saw that as an opportunity and I started building the stake.

I believe that it's very important to build a steak, especially in the case when we know that holding more tokens can bring better rewards. It was already announced by the team that SPS holders will be getting some additional benefits in the form of rewards in the game along with many other benefits. In this case, it's clear cut that the more SPS hold can make us eligible to get all these benefits in the long run and we have seen in the past that even a dedicated card was launched for SPS holders. Every sps holder is getting an [APR](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-annual-percentage-return-apr) of 15% and this is a good percentage of the reward. 


### My Stake

As of now, I have 138k sps in my account but there is no stoppage for me because I'll be trying to accumulate more SPS. This is my long-term goal for the game and I'm not worried about the price because I believe that in the long run price will grow but as of now whatever SPS I have plays an important role in the game reward. The reward multiplier has already been introduced in the game which means the more SPS we have as a stake in the game the multiplier and the highest multiplier can be availed only with more than one point two million sps. If I want to be there then I have a long way to go. I don't know if that will be possible for me or not but for sure at least I can try to build a better stake this time when the price is already low.

This is not financial advice that I'm sharing but because I believe in the game and its growth potential and this is why I'm investing in the sps token. Since this is a governance token there will be additional benefits for the holders and with stake, we always get the power to support any proposal that is good for the game. It's like our stake is our voice and the bigger stake we have makes our voice to be heard in the bigger forum.

 
The SPS [price](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-price) is $0.014 as of now its already at its lowest. This is the same [token](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token) which was valued at almost $1 after its launch and now it's almost one cent. I don't think there is any more possibility for it to go down and even if it goes the impact is not going to be big. From now onwards this token can go up however it may take some time which is understood.

I'm trying to make it 160K SPS as soon as possible and this is because with this take I'll be able to avail the maximum multiplier in Diamond 3 league. Once I achieve that milestone then also it will not be I stop for me because ultimately I will continue to accumulate more and follow the reinvestment strategy to grow it faster. Whatever SPS I earn through various ways including the game reward is already part of my stake and I also buy from the market from time to time to grow it faster. Reinvestment is the best strategy to grow the stake faster and this is what I am trying to do because I expect that it has great potential in the long term. When I say long term then it is not just a few months or just one year instead it is for a couple of years.
