A few days ago we were waiting for the new year to come and today we have already spent more than two days of the new year. That’s how time passes by making the Tomorrows Today and the Todays Yesterday. We surpass uncountable moments  without realizing their importance. Doesn’t each single unit of time that we happen to live deserves to be appreciated? Don’t we need to be grateful for every second we are able to breath? Shouldn’t we be appreciative of each heart beat? Shouldn’t we make the most of every bit of time? Is new year really something that push us begin a new journey? Isn’t each breath an apt time to revitalise our souls? Is there a guarantee if I would be able to exhale the air I inhale just now? ***Question like these were revolving in my mind on the first day of the new year. These were the feelings that I encountered in the beginning of the day.***

When the clock was about to struck 12 o'clock for the first day of 2023 I was watching news showing various important spots of the country crowded with people awaiting the arrival of the new year and its festivities. I might sound weird but celebrations of several events make no sense to me. I really wonder how superficial we have become. Many of us are living meaningless lives. We have anxieties and disquietude within; but instead of creating peace inside us we go for searching outward pleasures. One’s that are quite short lived and temporary. The materialistic approach for celebrations has put us in kind of a race where we are competing others for what we wear and how we show off. It has not only made our lives burdensome but also has diverted our attention from gaining the real purpose of our lives. ***These and the similar thoughts kept on streaming in my mind till I slept at night.***

When I woke up, it was Sunday. Sunday might mean a holiday for working women but for a non-working woman there is nothing like a holiday. Holiday for the man and kids means double duty for the woman. My day began with a list of things in my mind that were to be done that day. After finishing regular (Sunday 😉) chores I let my son finalize his school assignment because the next day was the first day after winter vacations. 

In the afternoon, my husband hurt his back. I became a nurse, massaged him with analgesic cream and gave him pain killer so that he might feel better. Every winter he hurts his back from one thing or the other. Lol. I tell him if he wants me to serve him I can do it without him hurting his back. 

The evening was quite busy. Hubby wanted to have chicken fried rice in dinner while both of my sons do not like the dish. I prepared fried potato for kids. The vegetables were brought so late. I worked like a robot, cutting veggies, doing dishes  cleaning kitchen, kneading dough and baking chapatti. I had to finish cooking before our stoves would stop emitting gas. Winter season comes with gas load shedding na🤨. 

Well, I was able to finish my work on time. Hubby loved the meal a lot. After finishing his meal he said, “Oh I am so full but my heart is still asking for more.” Hehe. Compliments like these make us feel our efforts are rewarded, don’t they?

Because kids had to go to school, we hurried up to bed. After letting my kids to bed and reciting them prayer I accomplished the last task of the day. What was that? That was powering up Hive and write the post for HPUD. I powered up 200 hive. A power punch for my hive power! The post was successfully published after which I closed my eyes as I was quite tired.

That’s how my first day of the year went. How about you?
