<h2>Gorokhovets on&nbsp;Klyazma River</h2>

I continue the story about the trip in early June.

Last time I saw beautiful clouds in the sky above the city of Shuya, I saw a bell tower in this ancient city. I saw the beauty of my native land in the fields and forests near the village of Dunilovo. This is where the bridge connects the two banks of the Teza River and from this bridge offers stunning views of the temples, which are many around.

I went to Nizhny Novgorod to go from there in the morning to the city of Gorokhovets. It was an unknown city for me. I just saw a lot of articles on the Internet that it’s worth to go there and a lot of beautiful photos. This is an occasion to go and see with your own eyes.

Gorokhovets is located on the road from Nizhny Novgorod to Vladimir. I must say that Vladimir was always interesting to me too. The city itself, small villages around Vladimir - all these are old Russian cities in which there are many ancient monuments of architecture and the amazing beauty of temples.

The distance from Nizhny Novgorod to Gorokhovets is only about 90 kilometers. The road is big, but very busy. But still, about an hour after we left Nizhny Novgorod, we arrived in this old Russian city.

The city was founded in 1168, and the founder is Andrey Bogolyubsky. The main residence of this prince was Vladimir and the nearby village of Bogolyubovo. Gorokhovets is located 160 kilometers from Vladimir and was a fortress on the eastern borders of the Principality of Vladimir.

The main fortress of the city, which is called either the Kremlin or Detinets, was located on one of the large hills. This hill is called Nikolskaya Gora. Around this Kremlin, a city began to grow.

As I said, the city was founded by Andrei Bogolyubsky and the income that was generated from trade and crafts in the city was taxed. A tenth (the so-called church tithe) of all income went to the needs of the church, and more specifically to the needs of the Assumption Cathedral of the city of Vladimir. Because of this, the city of Gorokhovets was called the city of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

By the way, the name of the city itself also has a lot of difficulties. It is not known for certain what the name came from. In Russian, the word "Gorokhovets" has a consonance with the word "peas". But despite the fact that peas are held in high esteem in this city, there is no connection between the name of the city and this bean. There is a famous pea porridge that you can try in this amazing city.

The city is very small. It is located on the banks of the Klyazma River in the folds of the hills, which are called mountains here.

When we drove into the very center and got out of the car, we immediately went to the river in the hope of seeing something interesting. On the embankments is always the most beautiful.

And Gorokhovets did not disappoint. The view from the river and from the bridge over the Klyazmu River was very beautiful. It was a strong current. It was evident that the river had not calmed down yet after spring. She quickly carried her dark waters downstream.

White clouds soared in the blue sky and there was a feeling of such serenity and genuine happiness that it simply could not be conveyed.

We looked at the city on the mountain and went to study it closer.
