Having visited once again in front of the Church of the Intercession-on-Nerl, I tried to remember how many times I had already been to this amazing place. It seems that it is not enough.

I don’t even remember what time was the very first. It seems to me that it was not so long ago. It was in the spring. The roads were not dry yet, but the sun began to bake and it became very pleasant to be on the street. In such weather, it's time to go on a trip.

I chose the city of Yuryev-Polsky. This is a very small town in the Vladimir region. I still remember that wonderful trip. I chose small roads that led from village to village almost in a straight line from the city of Kostroma to this small town. The distance is quite long and the road took more than two hours.

Back I decided to go through the city of Vladimir and on larger highways. The distance is greater, but the speed is also higher. As a result, I wanted to get home faster.

But passing by the city of Vladimir, I decided that it was worth going to see the Church of the Intercession-on-Nerl. It is very close to Vladimir and I decided to stop by and see what this church looks like at sunset.

Then I could not get to the temple. There was a flood of the Nerl River and I did not have rubber boots to wade through large puddles.

The most that I managed to do was to walk along the embankment of the railway and photograph the temple from afar.

But even then I felt the splendor of the ancient temple.

Since then, I have been several times in this place and I managed to get close to the temple. Literally, the year before last, I was in front of the temple in the very first days of May. The spill that year was not large and one could safely walk to the temple in ordinary shoes.

The Nerl was high, but did not overflow the banks.

Then I met the sunset next to the ancient temple. There was a lot of water in the lake next to the temple, and it reflected the temple and the heavens like a mirror.

By the way, later on from this photo I made a montage with my own photo of the starry sky and it turned out very effectively.

The eternity of the stars and the eternity of the temple. Spirit and power of nature.

A unique combination.
