# So, what makes a good movie?

Well, a good script, acting, and cinematography. But do we need original ideas? Well, no. It may scare you coming with an idea that is repetitive, it shouldn't. Movies are all the same, I know this may sound like my "Okay, boomer" moment, bomber more like it in my case considering I am Iraqi. But you would be surprised over how repetitive movies and T.V. Don't get me wrong, movies aren't lazy or not innovative , they are. But when hundreds of thousands of movies already made, how creative can you really get.

# Let's start with a theme

To start off with any movie you need a theme, the more convoluted the theme the better.  So, how do you make a theme? Good vs Bad is a great example that is unfortunately overused. Overall, there is one theme that always exists in any movie you ever watched: Change. It is highlighted at different levels, but each character in any movie  or T.V show changes, changes come in two main forms, self and society. 

# Okay, change is the theme, how do we start now?

Well, we start by setting up what precedes the change. Before you could change something you need to establish what it is. You pick any type of character you want, poor, rich, drug addict, a cop, a doctor, really the sky is your limit. You just need a person or a group with a job title or none, a place to live, people by whom they are surrounded. Just pick one with all the details mentioned.

That is step one of establishing, the next is a day in the life. The character wakes up, passes by friend and family, goes to work, interacts with people there, returns, interacts with people there,  and goes to sleep. 

# Now, your character needs to do something

Walter White needed money to leave his family, Bruce Wayne wanted to avenge the death of his family, your character needs a reason to do something. Could be finding money to pay debt collectors, buying a PlayStation 5, pass a hard upcoming exam, get their loved ones back. There needs to be something that is not acquired by the character at the moment but needs to be soon.

# Now you start the new journey

Whether it is acquiring money, killing someone for revenge, or anything your character needs to get. It is not easy to acquire, therefore the character has to enter an unfamiliar world. Here we witness the change of society, your character is no longer surrounded by their original cast and familiar life. Instead of best friend Bobby now you have Helena who hates your guts.

# You are in!

You are starting to settle in into your new environment. you already started your process of change by fitting into the new elements. You are managing to get Helena to like you, you are already changing into the character that able to get it done. 

# But you see, it is not that easy

How bad do you really want it? Are you willing to sacrifice what you already have to get this? Why not just go home now and call it a day? Are you in too deep? These questions have to be asked before the next step is taken. Are you risking losing Bobby to fit in with Helena? Before attempting entering the last part of the change, you have to be aware of what it carries, the change is your choice.

# You have made the choice
Well, obviously. Imagine Bruce Wayne going "Nah, I am fine" halfway through Batman begins and just gets married as Bruce Wayne and has three children. To make the change your character needs to be able to do it and have the convictions to do so. You have made the decision to stick to Helena and risked losing Bobby, which is what happened. Whatever decision you made, started to show its dark side.  

# Welcome back

You have achieved your mission, got what you set out to get in the first place. Be it the answers to the test, revenge, or saving Gotham city. You have achieved that mission. Good job.

# Uh-oh

Life is not the same now, is it? The thrill of the chase, the adrenaline of action, the dopamine of achievement, and the journey changed you, didn't it? Bruce Wayne becomes Batman and Batman doesn't have a place for Rachel Dawes, Heisenberg can't have a normal family life. It is all about the journey because by the end of it you might not even want the treasure anymore. Your change began the moment you wanted something, the fact that you got what you wanted only confirmed it.
