I was fed up with my life someday and I decided to not stay at home tonight, and that I'll travel to a different city, I literally checked Egypt's map and saw which city can I stay at for a week or so that is not too far away, and I did travel after less than 2 hours.
I thought that once I arrive to a new place, a place that I haven't been to before, that I will feel better about myself, that my mind might stop racing, and that something would change that would this mental state go away.
The second day I wrote in my diary: "I can't run away from my feelings because everywhere I go they come with me, they're inside"
In NA's literature (Narcotics Anonymous) it's very well-known that geographical change doesn't equal recovery, because we often think when we go to a different place, we'll become different people, especially when we think that starting a new life in a different city/country will make us instantly get over our challenges.
In Egypt, a great percentage of the youth travel to work at other countries, and to be honest living in Egypt in the meantime is too challenging, but people think that just by traveling they will have a different personality/mindset, and they will immediately quit their bad habits.
My message is; if you're seeking change, remember that change starts from within, a calm and content mind will be the happiest in the most challenging circumstances, and vice versa.
