Glad I watched it til the end, it got pretty entertaining. Times change on steemit, faster than on any other platforms, everyone has to adapt to them like we adapt to the updates. I think you will find good material to write about in the future, don't worry if it doesn't happen on a daily basis. Your material helps build this site up and a lot of people will be thankful for it in the future, I just wish they would keep ongoing payments available for posts for longer than 30 days. Would be more awesome to be able to vote on old comments/posts if you stumble upon them and want to vote for them.

Well done man, you didn't even need to edit this video which is great!!  You were able to just communicate really well with nobody but a camera.
I find this really really hard, and when I started your video I was going to advise you to start editing the pauses out.  But that was a wrong initial reaction because you did really well and this is so much more authentic without any stops!!

I want to address one specific part of your video.  The small post idea is a GREAT IDEA! We need more easy user thought of Steemit alterations like this one that we can simply implement with a hashtag. Thanks for starting the experiment. I actually used the hashtag in another post of mine.  Quick and valuable easily digestible posts are desired by many of us . Thanks for posting. It's so funny how I can post something I think is great on Tumblr or Facebook, and when it doesn't get the attention I feel it deserves, I might feel a little bit dejected, but I normally say, "oh well", and that's it. The cardgame really changes when money is involved.

We were talking about hold 'em the other night... maybe you're familiar with these terms "tilt" and "winner's tilt".  "Tilt" is of course when you have a bad emotional reaction to something, and so you start playing terribly - or more broadly, when some internal state is preventing you from playing your best game. "Winner's tilt" is a peculiar variety of tilt, and there are two flavours: One is where you get cocky and start making bold moves which you would normally avoid. The other is where you get scared because you have so much money in front of you, and you don't want to make a mistake, and so you miss many opportunities. You had the first type, and of course it came crashing down. After a little success, I'm experiencing the second type, scared to post again in case it falls flat.

But life goes on. Don't worry too much about letting people down. I think you're establishing a reputation which goes beyond minor mistakes. Besides, when I saw that post about Adams, I didn't even question that you would be able to raise the money.

My other note is a little expression that's been rolling around in my head lately: you are drinking from a spring which never runs dry. No matter how much you write, you can always write more. It doesn't matter if people plagiarise your work, criticise it, spit on it, your hard drive fails or whatever. You can always write more; that's the magic of being an artist.

Dude, I watched your video explaining Steem Vs Steem dollars Vs Steem Power on youtube nbefore you posted it on steemit. I think it is one of the best on the subject, if not the only one out there.
Just don't be too self conscience, do it sincerely, it's the only thing that matters, haters are gonna hate anyway, it has nothing to do with you, it's in them. Just like a snake's venom is in the snake and a snake bites.

I think the main problem right now is that we have a huge influx of information and it's impossible to see all of it. And those great users who really up vote great content are just a few  reported to the number users that are posting anything to get money. In the future I'm sure the Steemit devs will do something, but for now, we can try to make a difference and hope for the best.

Your ideas and content is good for an amount of users, unfortunately you article never reached.

Actually I think the Dilbert post gave you (and us) much more than you could have expected. This illumination that you've experienced and shared with us is worth much more than a couple of thousands USD you could have gotten from that Dilbert post.

And the overall impact is much greater - for me, the conclusion you conveyed in the video has much more value than having Scott Adams here at this stage. He will come to Steem sooner or later anyway, whereas we need our own good content now - for our own sanity.

Andrew, this was powerful. You might be grateful for the Dilbert flop that it provoked this kind of reaction - straight from the heart, bypassing the mind.

Straight core... I totally appreciate haw raw dog you  let yourself be. We share the same fears. I finally opened up the doors here on Steemit to possibly getting my flow back in motion  .... Huh ... My flow-motion.... More then ever I need to cut the ties of caring too much about what others view myself and anything I offer up. When I first started checking out the content and the ways people were letting their guard down here I started to finally feel like Maby this was a community I could jive with. I joined.... I then noticed a massive emergence of critics and straight up negative threads being woven through the Steemit community I've so long been hoping I  would cross paths with. Seeing a lotta me in you. At least in this video. I became hesitant to  dropping in completely. Seeing your video here helped remind me what has helped me so damn much in the past.. That is to just keep logged in the back of my mind that for each of somebody's 100% positive 'whatever' it may be, that same thing will be somebody's 100% negative. Reminding  myself that has helped me in the craziest of times.... Especially when I don't see eye to eye with someone cuzz it works both ways... It keeps me from forming negative thought patterns. It allows me to let whatever it is I don't totally agree with....roll off my back.
Sooo in the midst of my hesitation, your video here surfaced at the most optimum of times. Thanks for grinding through it and sharing it. Keep it Real!  Keep postin brotha!

Great video, I love that you didn't edit it a bunch. I always feel self conscious about the way I talk on camera :) I get super nervous in front of the camera and forget what I wanted to say too :) 

I love that you talked about the effect! I was listening to a podcast on how personalty tests are very inaccurate because everyone perceives themselves in a different way. 

I also feel that sense of self entitlement at times, I think it's a flaw we all need to stop having! No other website pays us to post! We need to really appreciate this platform!

I  like that you are authentic and stepping up to things that scare you.  That's huge!  We all know there will always be negative comments. And how human of us to dismiss all the great things people said. Instead we focus on that one negative comment.  How we perceive their comments is the reality.  What is the gift? 

Their comment is their opinion, not yours, but instead we choose to accept it as a negative, judge it, run it over a few times and beat ourselves up with it, when in fact what they said is merely a reflection of themselves.  

"Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one!"

I think you were a little hard on yourself.  

The two posts you made after Dunning Kruger Effect have made a combined $109.  Sure, not trending page numbers, but that still looks successful to me.  If my posts make more than $10 I think they're successful . (I've had a few in the hundreds, none have broken $1,000 yet.) 

So you didn't hit the trending page with each post.  So what?  You've done good work.

I also agree with you.  Some posts here are TOO Long.  It's hard to read that much in a web broswer.

The reason you are so damn intelligent bro, is because you are so sensitive to negativity. You are an expert in the laws of the land and I'm not sure you are even aware of it! Keep posting! Your knowledge has Extreme value! Your content is helping a guy like me in ways you don't even know!

Hi! I just found your video on youtube and looked you up on steemit. I really like your thoughts on the importance of the quality of the content in each post we upload. I am a new vlogger and I have noticed something similar to you where a lot of the posts are very long and very thorough. I have also considered creating short posts that still provide good content, but I am just not sure if it is just a good idea. 

A funny thing about trolls that I encountered on my second post was that someone got very upset that I had mentioned a different cryptocurrency besides steemit and decided to mute me because of it. At that point I was only a few days into steemit and had legitimately thought I did something wrong. I then learned that there are tags solely dedicated to talking about other cryptocurrency and that I will not be able to please everyone.

In your experience have you found it to be easier to distinguish between trolls and people who offer good critical feedback?

It takes a lot to admit you've been wrong or made a mistake especially in such a public way and  you have certainly given me a lot to think about moving forward.  Thank you.

So many great topics in this video. I love your distinction between a good idea and good art. I think Steemit has a real ability to improve content beyond the kind of "articles" found on facebook etc. I want to embrace that aspect to improve my whole approach to writing. My first posts were not designed for Steemit and were ideas, only. I got that immediately and it made me realize that I've been phoning it in everywhere in my life and not really putting myself out there... at all... in any way. I'm aiming higher, now and it's empowering to hear others noticing the same potential and getting behind the basic integrity of being in this for real. Great video! Following!
