"We always feel good in Pontinvrea" 
(Ci si sta bene in Pontinvrea) is what is literally written on the sign at the entrance to the town. 
Pontinvrea is located in the north of Italy in the province of Savona in Liguria. 

I arrived there, shortly before sunset, running out of phone battery. 
While my phone was charging in the local café, I had a coffee and quickly drew the car that had just parked in front of me.

I showed my drawing to Alessandro, the owner of the car, who was pleasantly surprised to see his fiat, sketched in such a short time. 

He asked me if I could draw the car of one of his friends, called her and 5 minutes later she parked in Alessandro's place.

Then they asked me to draw them with Flavio as a bonus, I took it as a game and realized this drawing of which I was not very proud but I appreciated the spontaneity of the evening.

 Finally, I made the portrait of the couple holding the small bar.

I learned during this evening that 2 days before my arrival, on October 4 2021, the city had suffered heavy weather and floods never seen before, which left the city in a pitiful state. 

I didn't immediately notice the drama, because the inhabitants had already cleaned the center of the city together. 
A spirit of solidarity and teamwork prevailed throughout my stay in Pontinvrea. 

After these drawings and meetings, it was night time and I, who was used to bivouac until then, accepted Alessandro's proposal: to sleep in the family house for the night. 
(it was the first of the many nights I slept in Pontinvrea)

I immediately felt in love with the atmosphere of the house. 
The other members of the family were already sleeping and I had the privilege to taste the minestrone of Alessandro's mother and the house wine: a delight. 

But one object particularly caught my attention. 
In the house there was a wood-burning stove that also allowed to simmer the good Italian dishes while heating, particularly appreciable during these cold nights. 

We went to sleep after getting to know each other very well, Alessandro and me. 

I slept very little that night, excited by all the encounters and the energy that reigned in the city and it is without hesitation that I returned discreetly to the kitchen to paint with the energy of the early morning this stove ("stuffa a chitarra" in Italian) the soul and protector of this house.

c'est ce qui est littéralement écrit sur le panneau à l'entrée de la ville. 
Pontinvrea de situe dans le nord de l'Italie dans la province de Savone en Ligurie. 

J'y suis arrivée peu de temps avant le couché de soleil, à cours de batterie téléphonique. 
Pendant que mon téléphone chargeait dans le café du coin, je pris un café et dessinais rapidement la voiture qui venait de se garer devant moi.



Je montrait mon dessin à Alessandro, le propriétaire de la voiture , qui a été agréablement surpris de voir sa fiat, croquée en si peu de temps. 

Il me demanda si je pouvais dessiner la voiture de l'une de ses amis, l'appela et 5 minutes après, elle se gara à la place d'Alessandro. 
 
Ils me demandèrent ensuite de les dessiner avec Flavio en prime, je me pris au jeu et réalisais ce dessin dont je n'étais pas très fier mais j'appréciais la spontanéité de la soirée. 


 Je fis le portrait du couple tenant le petit bar resto dans lequel nous nous sommes désaltérer, à leur demande. 


J'appris pendant cetre soirée que 2 jours avant mon arrivée, le 4 octobre 2021 , la ville avait subit de fortes intempéries et des inondations jamais vu jusque là, qui ont laissé la ville dans un piteux état. 

Je ne m'étais pas tout de suite aperçu du drame vécu, car les habitants avaient déjà nettoyer le centre de la ville tous ensemble. 
Un élan de solidarité et d'esprit d'équipe régnait tout au long de mon passage à Pontinvrea. 

Après ces dessins et ces rencontres, il faisait nuit et moi qui avait l'habitude de bivouaquer jusque là, acceptais la propositon d'Alessandro : dormir dans la maison familiale pour la nuitée. 
(ce fut la première des nombreuses nuits où je dormis à Pontinvrea) 


J'ai tout de suite accroché avec l'ambiance de la maison. 
Les autres membres de la famille dormaient déjà et j'eus le privilège de goûter la minestrone de la mère d'Alessandro et le vin maison : un délice. 

Mais mais un object à particulièrement attiré mon attention. 
Dans la maison il y avait un poêle à bois qui permettait également de faire mijoter les bons plats italiens tout en se chauffant, particulièrement appréciable pendant ces nuits fraîches. 

Nous sommes allés dormir après avoir fait bien connaissance, Alessandro et moi. 

J'ai très peu dormi cette nuit là, excité par toutes ses rencontres et l'énergie qui régnait dans la ville et c'est sans hésiter que je retournais discrètement dans la cuisine pour peindre avec l'énergie du petit matin ce poêle ("stuffa a chitarra" en italien), l'âme et la protectrice de cette maison.
