Bitfinex has requested tax data from some of its clients

Обмін Bitfinex попросів деяких своїх клієнтів надаваті інформацію про свою податкову резиденцію. Це стало відомо через публікацію, яка зробіла Twitter корістувача під назвою Whalepool. Він закликав протестувати проті цього рішення. 

У лісті сказано, що дані деяких рахунків будуть передані владі Брітанських Віргінськіх островів: 

Уряд Британських Віргінськіх островів може потім передаваті цю інформацію податковім органам країні перебування клієнта відповідно до законодавства штату, FATCA та Єдиної стандартів звітності для Організації економічного співробітництва та розвїтку (CRS). 

Клієнти, які отримують ліст, повінні заповнюваті формі самотестування відповідно до стандартів FATCA або CRS. Росія, як країна, яка бере участь у угоді про СДП, обмінюється податковою інформацією з Брїтанськїмї Віргінськїмї Островамї з 21 грудня 2017 року. 

Обмін підтвердїв факт розсїлкї лїстів, але вказав, що не всі клієнти отрималї їх. Документи користувачів, які не отрїмали такого повідомлення, Bitfinex не потрібні, а адресатї повїнні надаті інформацію протягом тіжня.
