__Hello dear friends,__

Finally we have really nice and summery weather in Franconia and I'm plagued by a cold now of all times. It is sometimes really strange. The whole winter I was spared from it. No matter. It is a bit annoying but not too bad. Now I can use this little forced break and post a few pictures and impressions of my last bike tours, which often ended at a quarry pond.

__Hallo liebe Freunde,__


_Endlich haben wir richtig schönes und sommerliches Wetter im Frankenland und mich plagt ausgerechnet jetzt eine Erkältung. Es ist schon manchmal echt seltsam. Den ganzen Winter über blieb ich davon verschont. Egal. Es ist etwas nervig aber eben auch nicht weiter schlimm. Nun kann ich dieses kleine Zwangspause nutzen und ein paar Bilder und Eindrücke von meinen letzten Fahrradtouren, die oft am Baggersee endeten, posten._

On my tours I also always looked for mushrooms. These greasy green brittlegill (I am not quite sure) is a real feast for the eyes._

_Auf meinen Touren habe ich auch immer nach Pilzen Ausschau gehalten. Diese grünen Täublinge, deren exakten Namen ich leider nicht kenne, sind eine wahre Augenweide. Ich denke, es handelt sich hierbei um einen Grünen Speisetäubling._

The poisonous false morels are a first find for me. These specimens are unfortunately already older. But still a nice find for me. The same goes for the PEZIZA VESICULOSA (???). I am unsure of the determination here.

_Die giftigen Frühjahrslorcheln sind für mich ein Erstfund. Diese Exemplare sind leider schon älter. Aber trotzdem ein cooler Fund. Selbiges gilt für den Becherling, den ich nicht genau bestimmen kann._

It is rare to meet someone in the Schenkenwald Forest. Not even the witch was present...

This small water oasis can be found relatively deep in the Schenkenwald Forest near Nassig. Here I had also looked for mushrooms, but found nothing.

_Diese kleine Wasseroase findet man relativ tief im Schenkenwald bei Nassig. Hier hatte ich auch nach Pilzen geguckt, aber nichts gefunden._

_Some tours led me of course again to the quarry pond of Trennfeld. From Trennfeld you can photograph the picturesque Homburg very nice across the Main. Who knows my blog, knows that I do this regularly ;-) Among other things, I was also in this region on the day when Bayern Munich became German soccer champion 2023. Since Trennfeld is in Bavaria, the cheers here were not to be overheard..._ ;-)

_Einige Touren führten mich natürlich auch wieder an den Klostersee von Trennfeld. Von Trennfeld aus kann man über den Main hinweg sehr schön das malerische Homburg fotografieren. Wer meinen Blog kennt, weiß, daß ich das regelmäßig tue. ;-) U.a. war ich auch an dem Tag in dieser Region unterwegs, als Bayern München die Deutsche Meisterschaft klarmachte. Da Trennfeld in Bayern liegt, waren die Jubelschrei hier nicht zu überhören..._ ;-)

Finally, I would like to note in my HIVE diary that at the end of May, in cooperation with a Wertheim veterinarian, I was able to rescue an overtired carrier pigeon that had obviously flown away. The pigeon missed its actual destination Mannheim by about 150 km. I picked up the pigeon, gave it some water and brought it to a veterinarian. The vet informed the owner of the pigeon, who could be traced by the ring on the pigeon's foot. After a day of rest in the doctor's office, the pigeon will be flown home again and hopefully arrived safe and sound in Mannheim.

_Abschließend möchte ich noch in meinen HIVE Tagebuch vermerken, daß ich Ende Mai in Zusammenarbeit mit einer Wertheimer Tierärztin eine übermüdete Brieftaube retten konnte, die sich offensichtlich verflogen hatte. Die Taube verfehlte ihr eigentliches Ziel Mannheim um etwa 150 km. Ich habe die Taube aufgelesen, etwas mit Wasser versorgt und zu einer Tierärztin gebracht. Diese informierte den Besitzer der Taube, den man über den Ring am Fuß der Taube ausfindig machen konnte. Nach einem Tag Ruhe in der Arztpraxis wird die Taube wieder nach Hause geflogen und hoffentlich wohlbehalten in Mannheim angekommen sein._
