a few days ago my new single "Truth is Light" was released on Klubbstyle Records. As I mentioned in my HIVE post about the release, I used a completely new and in my opinion sensational tool for this production. Namely, for the production of the vocals I used "my" singer, who never has to sleep.

"Truth is Light" was also picked up again by the Youtube channel J'aime Trance. But they used the instrumental dub version. I am very grateful for all the nice comments I got for my song under this video, and also under the relevant videos on my channel.

In the extended mix on my Youtube channel you can hear the vocals that I produced with the ingenious tool. I have played the track to many musicians. Nobody heard that I didn't use a flesh and blood singer for "Truth is Light". I created the vocals with a VST plugin called emvoice, which allows me to play the voice on the keyboard like a normal instrument, e.g. like a piano. 
The voice sings without lyrics for now just a simple "la la la" in the played note. The text has to be written as usual and then entered below the notes in the editor. Then the plugin actually sings the lyrics. 
However, you should not imagine this procedure to be too easy. You have to do quite a bit of editing afterwards. E.g. trim the lengths of the notes, add vibrato, tune with EQ, compressors and FX, etc.

**Now we come to the question that arises here: Are these tools a danger for real singers?**


My answer is quite clearly: NO.

Recording vocals with a skilled singer is less time-consuming than using this tool. Besides, a real singer is much more individual. Anyone can buy the Vst plugin. Consequently, everyone has this voice. And a live performance without a real singer is probably still very fictitious at the moment... ;-)

What I still find great about the tool is that I can quickly implement a vocal idea at night, for example. Because emvoice never needs to sleep ;-)
You can also use this tool wonderfully to create demo mixes and use it as a template for a real singer. In electronic music genres it often wouldn't matter if the vocals sounded spacy and artificial (which the vocals don't - they sound real). That's why I just left the vocals as they were.

**Is this A.I.?**

NO, definitely not. Because the tool is completely "stupid" and can do nothing by itself. You have to do everything by hand. I have tested some A.I. tools, which then bring quite appealing random results, e.g. in the field of photography.
Emvoice needs 100% input of the composer and lyricist. That means you have to play (compose) the melody yourself and also write the lyrics yourself. For this you could of course use external A.I. tools. However, I have completely renounced this until today. Because also the copyright question is not completely clarified here in my opinion yet. But that would be too much for this article.... ;-)

vor einigen Tage wurde meine neue Single „Truth is Light“ auf Klubbstyle Records veröffentlicht. Wie ich in meinem Post zum Release bereits erwähnte, habe bei dieser Produktion mal ein für mich komplette neues und meiner Meinung nach sensationelles Tool verwendet. Und zwar habe ich für die Produktion der Vocals „meine“ Sängerin, die niemals schlafen muß, verwendet.

„Truth is Light“ wurde auch wieder von dem coolen Youtube Kanal J‘aime Trance aufgegriffen. Allerdings hat man dort die Dub Version verwendet, also   die Instrumental Version. Sehr dankbar bin ich für die vielen netten Kommentare, die ich für meinen Song unter diesem Video, und auch unter den betreffenden Videos auf meinem Kanal bekommen habe.

In dem Extended Mix auf meinem Youtube Kanal könnt ihr die Vocals hören, die ich mit dem genial Tool produziert habe. Ich habe den Track vielen Musikern vorgespielt. Keiner hat herausgehört, daß ich für „Truth is Light“ keine Sängerin aus Fleisch und Blut die Vocals im Studio eingesungen hat. Die Vocals habe ich mit einem VST Plugin namens emvoice erstellt, das mir erlaubt, die Stimme wie ein normales Instrument, z.B. wie ein Piano, auf dem Keyboard zu spielen. 
Die Stimme singt ohne Text vorerst nur ein simples „la la la“ in der gespielten Note. Den Text muß man wie üblich dichten und dann unter den Noten im Editor eingeben. Dann singt das Plugin tatsächlich den Text. 
Allerdings sollte man sich diese Prozedur nicht zu einfach vorstellen. Man muß da noch ganz schön nachträglich bearbeiten. Z.B. die Längen der Noten trimmen, Vibrato einfügen, mit EQ, Kompressoren und FX drüber gehen etc.

**Kommen wir nun zu der Frage, die sich wahrscheinlich nun einige stellen:
Sind diese Tools eine Gefahr für echte Sänger?**

Meine Antwort lautet ganz klar: NEIN.

Die Aufnahme der Vocals mit einer geübten Sängerin ist weniger zeitaufwändig als die Nutzung dieses Tool. Außerdem ist eine echte Sängerin viel individueller. Das Vst Plugin kann jeder kaufen. Folglich hat jeder diese Stimme. Von Liveauftritten wollen hier gar nicht erste sprechen… ;-)

Was ich an dem Tool aber trotzdem super finde ist, daß ich z.B. nachts mal schnell eine Vocal Idee umsetzen kann. Denn emvoice muß niemals schlafen. ;-)
Man kann dieses Tool auch wunderbar zur Erstellung von Demo Mixen nutzen und als Vorlage für eine echte Sängerin nutzen.

Im Bereich der elektronischen Musik macht es natürlich nichts, wenn die Vocals spacig und künstlich klingen würden (was die Vocals ja nicht tun – sie klingen ja echt). Daher habe ich die Vocals auch einfach so belassen.

**Handelt es sich hier um K.I.?**

NEIN, definitiv nicht. Denn das Tool ist völlig „dumm“ und kann nichts von selbst. Man muß alles von Hand machen. Ich habe ja einige A.I. Tools getestet, die dann recht ansprechende Zufallsergebenisse bringen, z.B. im Bereich der Fotografie.
Emvoice braucht  wie gesagt eine 100% Eingabe des Komponisten und Textdichters. Das bedeutet, man muß die Melodie selbst spielen (komponieren) und auch den Text selbst dichten. Hierzu könnte man natürlich externe A.I.Tools nutzen. Darauf habe ich bis heute allerdings komplett verzichtet. Denn auch die urheberrechtliche Frage ist hier meiner Meinung  nach noch nicht komplett geklärt. Aber dieses Fass möchte ich jetzt nicht aufmachen…. ;-)
